The final leg of our French cruise saw us retrace our steps from Morgat to Camaret before returning to Brest. Followed by a trip to Landernau by train a very pretty town which has an Art space founded by the founders of the E Leclerc supermarket chain as well as pretty medieval streets and river front

Two weeks ago we were in our favourite place in Brittany. We spent 4 days here and everyone was reluctant to leave

Left Chateaulin last Saturday at 7am to ensure we got to the lock at GuilyGlaz to catch the TIDE (The lock operates 2 hours before high water and 1 hour after and with high water being at 8am we had to be out and gone bore operations stopped for the day).

Treaded our way down through the morning fog which had cleared by the time we got to the lock. Two hours later we wee at Terenez and after a lovely sail across the the Rade Dé Brest we were at Camaret at about 3pm

Leaving Brest and up the River Aulne to Chateaulain. This was a lovely trip with lovely scenery on the way to a pretty French Country Town.

This week's adventure was a trip from Schull to Camaret in Brittany and onwards to Brest. The passage strategy of leaving to catch the coat tails of a Summer Gale moving westwards out of the English Channel meant it was a fast passage (55 hours to cover 280 miles) but pushed us hard most of the way.
