The bigger the commitment gets, the more certain you think you need to feel before you’re allowed to make it.

Because saying yes to a date is one thing.
Saying yes to forever?
Suddenly “I want this” doesn’t feel like enough.

You want to KNOW.

That he’s the one.
That you’re making the right choice.
That the doubts won’t mean something later.
That future you won’t look back and think, “I should have known.”

So the closer you get to the milestone, the more pressure you put on every feeling around it.

How excited was I?
Why did I feel anxious?
Why am I still questioning?
Shouldn’t I be more sure by now?

But you didn’t build this relationship in the moment he proposed.

And you won’t decide the truth of it in one anxious Tuesday three weeks before your wedding either.

You’ve been meeting this relationship, yourself, and your choice in hundreds of moments along the way.

The milestone is a threshold.

It doesn’t need to become the moment that finally gives you absolute certainty about the rest of your life.

Because that kind of certainty was never available to you in the first place.

And the pressure to find it can turn:
“Holy s**t, this is really happening.”
into: “Holy s**t… am I sure?”

That space between the two is a huge part of why I created Tending the Twinge.

If you’re approaching a big next step with someone you deeply want to be with, but every little flicker of doubt keeps pulling you back into questioning it all, comment TWINGE and I’ll send you the details. 🤍

He starts seriously talking about rings.

Not the hypothetical:“Maybe one day…”
But actually looking.

Talking timelines.
Asking what you like.
And this is what you’ve wanted.

So why, when it starts becoming real, does your stomach suddenly drop?
Why does your chest feel tight?
Why is there this little:
“Oh my god…”

And almost immediately:
Why did I react like that?
Shouldn’t I be more excited?
Does this mean he’s not “the one”?

Because somewhere underneath all of that is the question that makes the feeling feel so important:

If this were really the man I wanted to marry… wouldn’t my whole body be saying YES?

But this is where I see it differently.
What if your body isn’t saying “no”?

What if the thing you’ve imagined for years just stopped being hypothetical?

Because talking about getting engaged one day is very different from realizing:
Oh. We’re actually doing this.
You’re choosing.
Something is changing.

There are unknowns on the other side of that choice that you cannot perfectly predict.
And your body can register the magnitude of that without it being evidence that you don’t want it.

The piece that used to get me, and that I see happen with so many women, is what happens next.

That little: “Oh my god, this is real.”
gets interpreted as: “Oh my god… am I sure?”

And suddenly you’re not excitedly looking at rings anymore.
You’re trying to figure out what your reaction was trying to tell you.

This is exactly why I created Tending the Twinge.
Because you don’t need another way to analyze whether the feeling means yes or no.

You need that feeling to stop carrying so much weight, like it’s carrying the verdict of your entire relationship where it immediately pulls you back into questioning.

So talking about rings can feel BIG.
Getting engaged can feel BIG.
Choosing someone can feel BIG.

Without big automatically becoming:
“Maybe this is wrong.”

If you want these moments to stop feeling like something you have to figure out before you can enjoy them, comment TWINGE and I’ll send you the details. 🤍

Honestly, some of this still feels vulnerable to share.

Because when I was moving toward engagement, I remember wondering if anyone else needed to do this much around something they wanted.

Like… shouldn’t I just be excited?

Shouldn’t I just KNOW?

But I also know now, from the sheer number of messages I get from women quietly navigating the exact same thing, how many of us have felt incredibly alone in this.

These were some of the slightly unhinged 😅 ways I gave myself permission to move toward something I deeply wanted, without requiring myself to feel perfectly “certain” every step of the way.

And honestly? I’m still carrying pieces of all three with me as I get ready to say I do. 🤍

So tell me, what’s one slightly “unhinged” thing YOU’VE done to support yourself through engagement, commitment, or getting married?

I genuinely want to hear them 👀💗

Just a gut feeling 😅

Well that, and the frustration I’ve seen (and been feeling) around being told to “just trust your gut.”

That when you know, you know.

And if it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no.

Because that’s not actually very helpful when relationship anxiety is LOUD.

But truthfully? I also just don’t think it’s enough.

“Trust yourself” is lovely advice. But what happens when you genuinely don’t know which part of yourself to trust?

When your gut says one thing on Monday and something completely different on Tuesday?

When anxiety feels exactly like intuition?

When you have SO much information, advice, self-awareness and noise in your head that you can make a convincing case for literally every possible choice?

This is actually a huge part of why I created Tending the Twinge.

I’m not interested in telling you to “just trust your gut” about your relationship.

I’m interested in helping you get to a place where you can actually hear yourself underneath all the noise.

Anyway… that’s my prediction 👀

What do you think? Are we moving away from “just trust yourself” self-help, or am I completely off?

I will always stand on the right side of history: August is still summer ☀️

Except right now, this summer is quickly turning into wedding season!

Got to spend this incredible heat-wave summer right here in Munich … plus some other little European stops along the way. Read 3 books. Ate good food. Let my inner mermaid out. And spent lots of time with people I love. It was a realllly good summer 🥰

Now, onto the next era: the wedding! ✨🤍

This is the BIGGEST thing holding you back from certainty…
What you believe certainty itself means.

I was in this cycle for such a long time, and I see it with women I work with every single day:

You want to feel certain in your choice.
So you start looking for evidence that you ARE certain.

→ How you feel when you’re with him.
→ Whether you miss him enough when you’re apart.
→ Whether you feel excited when he talks about the future.
→ Whether there’s something about the relationship you’ve been overlooking.

You keep checking because you believe that eventually, you’ll find enough proof to land on: “Okay. THIS is how I know this relationship is right for me.”

But you never seem to find it.

Because the world around you is not where the proof of “this relationship is the right one for me” lives.

And before you make that mean you need to decide whether you should stay or leave…
I want to invite you to look at something completely different:

What type of certainty have you actually been searching for?

Because if certainty means having enough proof that you’ll never regret your choice…

Never change your mind…
Never discover something you didn’t know…
Never feel doubt again…
You’re asking your relationship to give you something it literally cannot give you.

And THAT is what keeps you searching.

Not necessarily because you haven’t found the right answer yet…
But because the version of certainty you’re trying to reach was never available through more evidence in the first place.

If you want to understand how to step out of this “certainty illusion” cycle and start anchoring into the kind of certainty you actually can have, so you can make a grounded decision about how you want to move forward in your relationship…

That’s exactly what my 60-minute masterclass CERTAIN is for.

Comment CERTAIN and I’ll send you the link. 🤍

Oh, and follow along for belief #3!
