Travel journal, August 26, Hautes-Alpes, Fifteen days outdoors.
Since we launched Valone three years ago, we’d never managed to take a holiday. This summer, for the first time, we went away – fifteen days camping.
We started in La Grave, at the foot of the Écrins. With the children, we walked at their pace, stopping often, and still found time to do a bit of climbing.
Then we headed to the Clarée Valley, in the Cerces. Our days revolved around the river: we’d go for a swim as soon as it got hot. One day, we hiked up to the Chardonnet mountain hut, then made our way back down to the campsite. In the evenings, dessert was almost always fromage blanc with blueberry jam. Some nights, thunderstorms caught us by surprise in the tent, but we eventually got used to it.
During those fifteen days, we also went running in the mountains in our RAVE and tested products for an upcoming collaboration.
Creating an independent trail running shoe brand is a very demanding adventure. Producing technical footwear in Europe means giving it our all every single day. But when we launched Valone, what we wanted above all else was to spend lots of time outdoors. That’s still the dream we’re chasing, and those fifteen days made us happy.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us from the start, and who wears their Valone shoes on their runs or during their long days outdoors. It’s thanks to you that this adventure is coming to life.
