Every putter starts with an idea.

As a designer, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as taking a concept from a sketch and turning it into something real.

The Boudin Noir was a particularly rewarding project because it’s actually quite a complicated idea. The challenge wasn’t designing all of the functionality, it was designing it in a way that felt and looked simple.

Feeling the first assembled putter in my hands, and then taking it onto a green and realising it was genuinely a great putter, was one of those moments that makes all the work worthwhile.

So why Sausage?

If you’re from the UK, the answer is probably pretty obvious.

If you’re not, a sausage roll is a British institution. You’ll find one in just about every bakery, petrol station and halfway house in the country.

When it came time to name a golf company, we figured golf took itself seriously enough already.
