Looking forward to some great adaptive racing this weekend at Florida Masters Regatta in Orlando. We start off with Scott and Mandy rowing in a double in the men's pair race, Betsy rowing in the women's masters single, Helmon and Luis rowing in the men's novice single. In the last event Scott and Betsy going up against Helmon and Mandy, and the veteran scullers from Sarasota; Jack, Bob B and Bob S and their partners in the last race of the day, the mixed adaptive double event. Five adaptive doubles in one race. Look for photos.

These are ideas I gleaned from last weeks camp and previous training opportunities. Hope they are helpful.

Erg like you row. Don't do all that funky stuff to get a good score, practice on the water form on the erg. You may improve your rowing if you imprint good form on the erg. Think level hands, release points on your body, elbows out, press down at the release, even row the bowl at the catch, the erg won't know the difference.

Start with starts. After you are warmed up and you are going into a piece use your starting sequence to get going. It doesn't have to be at full speed or pressure. Just internally say Attention Go and do it. Hopefully having a ton of starts under your belt will make the race ones less precarious. Remember you normally can't win a race at the start but you sure can lose one.

Taking trailer full of boats to Bayada Regatta. Contact me if you want to load yours. Best adaptive regatta there is. Remember"you gotta regatta".
