The tent dancing in the wind, sounds so poetic when in reality it keeps us up all night worried. You jump up out of bed at every gust, put some shoes on without socks no time for that and if your lucky you grab a jacket and just run to it and tighten every strap, fix every pole that has moved put trailers around to try and block as much wind as possible and then you wait until the next gust, telling each other it should be good when inside you feel sick with worry. We lost one to wind and ever since windy nights mean no sleep but they also bring you together as a family, even if it's a day you have fallen out, that tent becomes your all in that moment and nothing else matters.
If anyone wants a good team building exersice go to a circus on a windy night.
This is technically just some plastic but to us it's everything, it's our home, our livelihood and our breadwinner. And even when we work abroad and it's not our tent we still go out and do everything we possibly can to help because that is circus life and one day you may need the help returned 🎪
