RADIANT NEW YEAR
(a message personally written by Paramahamsa Vishwananda on X)
"As the year is coming to an end, spend some time reflecting on the lessons that this year brought to you, the growth you experienced, and the changes you wish to embody in the new year.
As the years seem to pass by more and more quickly, it becomes very important to increase one’s awareness towards life. To become aware of the time that has already passed. Aware of what God has brought into your life and how to grow closer to Him.
First. Note down your thoughts about the year and what it brought to you. The different people. Situations. Work. The spiritual path. Everything. Close your eyes and let the events appear in front on you like a movie on a screen. Notice the emotions and thoughts you held during those times. Just review your year with honesty and clarity. Don’t start thinking or analyzing. Let everything play in front of you like videos on a movie screen.
Learn to witness with loving detachment. This will help you to slowly gain mastery over all thoughts and emotions. Just be at ease and meditate on Bhagavan’s Name. Let your mind and emotions calm down fully. Drop into the present moment and be within your true self.
Second. After you have noted down the events of this year - then with patience, acceptance, and unconditional love allow yourself to analyze your thoughts, words, actions, and habits.
Don’t judge yourself but analyze your thoughts, emotions, words, actions, and repeated habits. This is vital. You must learn to be kind to yourself but also continuously change to become better. There is no end to transformation. Even a God-realized saint keeps growing, keeps transforming negativity into positivity, keeps growing closer to Bhagavan in love, devotion, and surrender. Note down what you need to change within yourself. Note down what needs to grow deeper to reach your true heart. Note down how you can be more loving, more kind, more humble, and more helpful to the entire world.
Third. Start to put that plan into action, one step at a time. There is no use of only analyzing the self but not taking action to transform. That simply leads to overthinking and feeling overwhelmed. Once you have identified what needs to change within yourself, what needs to transform in your life, don’t say “God will take care of everything” while doing nothing yourself. You have to take the steps. You have to move. You have to get up and fight the righteous war, walk the path of Dharma, like Arjun learned to. Yes, God is always there, always helping. But you will never truly see His help if you just sit and do nothing. You will notice His miracles only when you have given your utmost to change yourself and take steps in the right direction. Decide how you want your new year to look and start taking steps to make that a reality. By taking one step at a time, you can reach the ultimate destination of even the longest journey. By laying one brick at a time, you can create the most magnificent Mandir for Bhagavan.
Start the work. And leave every worry, confusion, doubt, and concern about outcomes, at the Lotus Feet of the SatGuru and Bhagavan. This way you can truly have a radiant new year."
