PRAGGNANANDHAA WINS NORWAY CHESS 2026!

Indian Grandmaster Praggnanandhaa R. has emerged as the champion of Norway Chess 2026 after defeating German GM Vincent Keymer with the white pieces in the final round.

Praggnanandhaa finished the tournament with 18 points, securing the title by a one-point margin over American GM Wesley So. Throughout the event, he displayed outstanding form, fighting spirit, and exceptional preparation against the world's strongest players.

His remarkable campaign included two victories over World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen and a win against World Champion Gukesh D., highlighting one of the finest performances of his career.

With this triumph, Praggnanandhaa also gained 15.2 Elo rating points, pushing his live rating to 2750.2 and further cementing his place among the world's elite chess players.

With an incredible win on demand against Vincent Keymer in the final round, Praggnanandhaa wins one of the strongest tournaments of the year scoring 18/30 points, 2 classical wins against World no.1 Magnus Carlsen, and an incredible 4-game Winstreak to finish the event!
