Misano to welcome the GT Cup Europe for the first time‼️🌅🇮🇹

A new venue in the calendar always makes a round special: it will be so for the 2026 GT Cup Europe in its third stop of the season. The series is heading to the Adriatic Riviera and the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The 4.064-km track, built in 1972 and upgraded several times since then, is more known for motorbike racing, but it is also a great, very technical track for car racing, in particular GTs.

After two exciting rounds in Portimão and Spa, the 2026 GT Cup Europe is in full growth. There will be 19 cars in action in the Romagna round, which marks the comeback of Ferraris on their home soil, and the fight for the championships now has a clear physiognomy.

Target Racing to make GT Cup Europe debut at Misano‼️💥🎯

Another new team making its debut in the GT Cup Europe at Misano, which will host the third round of the season, is Target Racing, which didn’t want to miss the first time the series will race on their home track. ‘Local hero’ is an expression that fits well with Target Racing, based in Lugo di Romagna, a few kilometers from the track.

Founded and led by Roberto Venieri, the squad started its journey in the late ‘90s in single-seaters, becoming an acclaimed GT squad in 2017. Currently, it races in several competitions, including the Italian GT, the Ferrari Challenge, and the McLaren Artura Trophy.

At Misano, it will field a Ferrari 296 Challenge in the Am class for Pierluigi Alessandri, one of its usual drivers in Italian competitions.

Zanasi Racing to make GT Cup Europe debut at Misano‼️🤩🛡️🐎

A completely new entry for the Misano round has been confirmed: Zanasi Racing. The racing team is active in GT racing (Ferrari Challenge and Italian GT) only since this year but is part of an automotive group that has its origins in a ‘carrozzeria’ (body shop) founded in 1964, based in Maranello and specialized in Ferrari cars. Since then, the family business has expanded to a service company for modern and classic cars, keeping its close ties with the Prancing Horse, and launched this year its racing arm, ‘a dynamic and ambitious team ready to leave its mark on the track, but also on the way motorsport is experienced.”

No surprise then that Zanasi is racing with Ferraris.
The 296 Challenge entered at Misano will be entrusted to Marco Zanasi, owner and driver of the squad, and Andrea Belicchi, who certainly needs no presentation and is back to a series he last competed in 2024.
