After an action-packed 6 month charter, today the maxi-trimaran Lending Club 2 project has come to an end and we hand the boat back to its owner.
We knew from the start back in March that this was going to be a busy year, but I don’t think anyone realized how many people would come and see the boat or come sailing with us.
From the start we agreed we would have an open door policy and whenever possible we made the boat available for visits at the dock. Our skipper, Renaud invited all the Lending Club employees to come sailing and over 1000 of them took him up on the offer. We took children from sailing schools and students from all backgrounds and as young as 5 and 6 years old. We took hundreds of Lending Club guests and business partners in both New York and San Francisco. Everyone without exception had the opportunity to drive the boat if they wanted to and everyone came back to shore with a huge smile and an unforgettable souvenir.
We set three new world records in Europe, the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans.
We made friends.
We had fun.
Heartfelt thanks to the entire team for working so hard; literally every single day for weeks on end and for taking such great care of all 1500+ guests. Thanks to the racing team who stepped up to the challenge and brought home three new records. Thanks to our technical partners Switlik, Marlow, Guy Cotten, Events Clothing and Underwater Kinetics who supported us from the start and finally a huge thanks to our leader Renaud Laplanche for making all this possible.

Apres une location de six mois très chargée, aujourd’hui le projet de maxi trimaran Lending Club 2 est arrive a son fin et nous rendons le bateau a son propriétaire.
Nous savions tout au départ que ce sera une année très occupée, mais je pense que personne n’a réalisée vraiment combien de personnes nous allions faire visiter le bateau et amener naviguer à son bord.
Depuis le départ nous étions d’accord pour un esprit de ‘portes ouvertes’ à n’importe qui voulait venir voir. Notre skipper, Renaud a invité tous les employées de Lending Club de venir naviguer et plus de 1000 personnes ont répondu oui. Nous avons amené des jeunes des clubs de voile, des étudient de tous les niveaux et de tous les milieux, aussi jeune que 5 et 6 ans. Nous avons fait naviguer des centaines de invités et partenaires d’affaires de Lending Club à New York ainsi qu’à San Francisco. Tout le monde, sans exception, a eu l’opportunité de barrer le bateau si ils voulaient, et tout le monde est revenu au ponton avec un grand sourire et un souvenir inoubliable.
Nous avons battu trois records mondiaux de vitesse en Europe, Atlantique et Pacifique.
Nous avons fait des amis.
Nous avons vécu un incroyable moment.
Un grand merci a toute l’équipe pour avoir travaille si dur, tous les jours pendant des semaines et avoir pris si bien soin de tous nos invites. Merci à notre équipe de course d’avoir relevée le défi et nous avoir apportée trois très jolis records. Merci a nos partenaires techniques de nous avoir suivi depuis le départ; Switlik, Marlow, Guy Cotten, Events Clothing, UK Underwater Kinetics. Enfin un énorme merci a notre skipper, Renaud Laplanche, sans qui rien de cela ne serait possible.
