Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 30th May and 6th June 2026.

We had one group of regulars have Lac Noir for a fortnight and nobody on Main Lake week before last hence why we combined these two weeks.

Lac Noir

The first week on Lac Noir was tough. For the first part of the week the fish were pawning, immediately after the temperatures soared into the thirties making the going tough. The second week things improved significantly, with 2 of the A team gracing the bank.

Howard Ing banked Bryn’s common after spawning at 68lb and a new PB, Howard also had a fish of 39lb. Also getting a 60 was Tony Suarez with the Split Dorsal common at 60lb (again after spawning). Tony also had commons of 47lb, 44lb and a Mirror of 34lb.

Andy landed 5 fish topped by a 51LB 4 oz Mirror his other fish being 47lb (x2) 39lb and 33lb.

Jason was on three fish, all 30’s; 33lb, 31lb and 30lb.

Main Lake

The Main Lake had a rest for a week with no guests which allowed the fish to spawn undisturbed and to recover.

Last week we only had 2 guests on the Main Lake, but returning guests Andy Woonsta had a good week with a total of 14 fish: 50lb, 49lb, 47lb, 45lb common, 44lb X 2, 35lb common, 33lb X 2, 32lb X 2 (one a common) 30lb and 28lb X 2. His angling partner Craig Hunt fished hard all week but it was not happening for him and he managed one fish of 32lb.

Weeks commencing 5th and 26th September have become available on the Main Lake- deposit has been paid so contact us for a reduced-price deal if you are interested.

Brittany Forest Lakes is for Sale £675 000 (€777,000)
www.brittanyforestlakes.co.uk

Sitting at just over 80 acres with 4 lakes, a number of buildings, a large stock of fish (approx. 650), and a significant proportion of the stock above 40lb, with approximately 25 fish being 50lb+, 11 x 60lb+ (to 69lb) 2 x70lb+ (to 77lb), and an astounding 95lb carp.

All the lakes are ex-quarries dug in the late 1930’s which have now matured with a
stunning forest backdrop.

The Lakes comprise of 4 lakes: 2 of which are currently used commercially (Main Lake at 12 acres (circa 300 carp) and Lac Noir at 6 acres (circa 200 carp)) and 2 lakes that are currently not used commercially (Westwood at 6 acres and Little China at 4 acres)

The site was also once a theme park therefore containing a number of buildings and structures. The property retains a leisure land classification with access to 3-phase power.

The main building includes a restaurant, bar and fully equipped kitchen adjacent to two large secure storage areas (10m x 15m) each with accessible power ideal for a
workshop, storing tackle and bait, additional freezer space, drying wood, storing
gardening and maintenance equipment.

The bathrooms occupy a separate building with a fresh coat of paint, a recently installed 300L boiler and facilities to accommodate multiple people in separate gendered areas.

There is a one bedroom cosy cabin with an enclosed security fence.

We have obtained planning consent to develop a house from one of the existing
structures (8.5m x 24.4m).

Brittany Forest Lakes represents a rare and almost unique opportunity to acquire a top tier carp fishing venue in France. The size of the fishery and the stock is incredible with the fish itself worth in excess of 500,000 euros. The site is beautiful and unspoilt and provides a tranquil and unique experience to the visiting angler. This is a rare opportunity to obtain and further develop the operation with significant bookings already in place this year. Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 23rd May 2026.

With the fish wanting to spawn on both lakes and the weather for most of the week not being conducive for them to do so (cold and wet) it was always going to be a tough week. A group of 10 lads booked the whole complex and split up with 4 on Lac Noir and 6 on the Main lake. The pleasing thing is everybody caught.

Main Lake

The Main Lake fished better than Lac Noir for the first time this season. With a total of 18 fish being caught; Given the conditions and the moody fish that was a sterling effort by the lads.

Top rod on 5 fish was Tim with another new entry in the 50-club toping his six fish catch. Tim banked Mirrors of 50lb 8oz (which he named “Teddy” after his grandson) 37lb, 30lb, 28lb, and 24lb and a common of 44lb.

Close behind was Matt on 5 fish: Mirrors of 48lb, 40lb, 32lb, a common of 24lb and one of the only 2 known (and rarely caught) grass carp in the lake at 29lb.

Liam was on 3 fish also topped with a 50 Mirror at 54lb 8oz and another 2 at 34lb and 26lb.

On 2 fish was Jack- a 30lb Mirror and an 18lb Common.

On one a piece was Mattie (30lb) and Martin (26lb).

Lac Noir

It was a much tougher week on Lac Noir than any previous week. The fish clearly wanted to spawn and had congregated on the surface awaiting favourable conditions.

Danny landed 3 fish 44lb, 38lb, and 31lb.

Terry landed 2 at 42lb and 38lb. And John was on one at 44lb.

Leaving it very late in the week and salvaging victory from the jaws of defeat (and avoiding being first blank on Lac Noir this season) was Phil, who on Saturday Morning just before packing up landed a PB common at 42lb (much to his visible delight and relief).

A tough week with the lads working hard for fish- On Lac Noir single bright and smelly pop-ups accounting for 4 of the 7 fish landed. Following the significant change in the weather on Thursday, the fish on Lac Noir are now spawning as we write (Sunday Morning) and they look like they will spawn in the next day or so on the Main Lake (they are gathered on the surface near their usual spawning locations). With settled weather forecast for most of the week hopefully they should spawn successfully and get it over and done with.

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 16th May 2026.

It was a much tougher week at Brittany Forest lakes. The changeable and cold weather playing its part, with the fish wanting to spawn on both lakes but the conditions not being suitable. Notwithstanding the difficult conditions the lads fished hard with a few fish being banked

Lac Noir

Again, it was Father and son due who had Lac Noir last week: Paul & Simon Gwinnett. Senior Angler Paul was top rod on the entire venue with 7 fish: Mirrors of 48lb, 45lb, 44lb, 28lb and 28lb and 2 commons 44lb and 13lb (an old original).
Simon fished hard all week, losing a couple to end up with one fish on Thursday at 36lb.

Main Lake

It was a similar story on the Main Lake, with one Angler catching a few and the others struggling for the odd fish or two. Matt Tomkinns was top rod with 6 fish 1 common at 25lb and 5 Mirrors between 32lb and 39lb. Banking a nice common at 54lb was Nathan who also added a second fish at 32lb. On single fish each were Steve with a 48lb Mirror and Butch with a 38lb 8oz Mirror. The other 3 lads did not manage to catch.

A tough week all round compared to previous weeks, with weather conditions and moody fish playing their part. We really need the fish to spawn on both lakes and need a period of settled warm weather to allow them to do so.

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 9th May 2026.

The 50’s 60’s and 70’s keep coming at Brittany Forest lakes.

Lac Noir

Father and son due Chris and Adam Ride booked Lac Noir and had a very good week.

Chris managed to break the lake record with Bryn’s Common at 74lb 8 oz, Chris also had 4x 40’s in his 5 fish catch at 46lb, 45lb x 2 and 42lb.

Adam also managed a new lake record in the form of Scar Mirror at 60lb 8oz; the lakes biggest Mirror. Adam had 11 fish which included a 53lb Mirror and Mirrors of 48lb, 45lb, 44lb 40lb (x2) 36lb and 33lb and Commons of 47lb and 46lb.

Main Lake

The Main Lake was a little tougher last week; the fish had shown an interest in spawning at the end of the previous week, but the weather changed and they did not spawn. This made the fishing difficult with the fish not interested in feeding. Single pop-up hook baits were found the way to produce takes by the 4 anglers who had booked the lake.

Andy Whithouse banked 5 fish at 48lb, 47lb, 34lb, 28lb and 24lb.

Jay Carrick managed 4 fish topped by a 55lb Common, with 2 other commons of 36lb and 27lb and one of the new fully scaled fish at 20lb.

Also banking a 50 was Ben Turley with a 51lb 10oz Mirror, Ben had 2 other fish at 34lb and 30lb.

In summary the fish in the Main Lake do need to spawn and we need a period of settled weather to allow them to do so.

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 2nd May 2026.

The big fish keep coming over the net cord at Brittany Forest Lakes, with more new 50’s and 60’s caught this week, and an impressive 77lb, and nobody blanked!

Main Lake

Three lads booked the Main Lake this week and they all had Fish.

Jim Bradley was top rod by some margin, landing 14 fish, topped by Merlin at its new top weight of 77lb, Jim also had a new 60lb Mirror at 60lb 2oz together with a New 50lb Mirror at 51lb. The remainder of his catch was made up as follows; 45lb, 42lb, 39lb, 34lb, 32lb (x3), 29lb, 27lb and 25lb. Completing the feat of a grand Royal Flush (20’s to 70’s).

Stuart Hall fished hard all week and was rewarded on Friday with a new 50 for the lake in the form of a stunning 53lb Common and a new PB.

Paul Ward also left it late in the week to bank his solitary fish of 35lb.

Lac Noir

Again 2 Anglers had Lac Noir to themselves. Luke Bennett had a great week banking 8 fish topped by the Split Dorsal Common at 63lb, Luke also had fish of 49lb, 47lb, 37lb, 36lb, 35lb, 29lb, and 27lb. When Luke arrived on the Saturday his PB was a mid-30!

Paul Stone landed 3 fish 47lb, 41lb, and 37lb. Paul also beat his previous PB.

So, in summary another good week, 2 x50’s 2 x60’s and 1 x upper 70 landed across the complex. With 4 Anglers out of 5 beating their previous PB’s! We still have some last-minute availability for 2026 if you want a chance to smash your PB.
