📣📢📣📢 OVER 100 FISH CAUGHT!!! 📣📢📣📢

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 22nd August 2026.

After a number of weeks in the doldrums due to the continued heat the fishing at Brittany Forest Lakes exploded, with over a 100 carp caught at the venue to 9 Anglers. Records were broken in terms of numbers of fish caught

Brittany Forest Lakes is for Sale £675 000 (€777,000)
www.brittanyforestlakes.co.uk

Sitting at just over 80 acres with 4 lakes, a number of buildings, a large stock of fish (approx. 650), and a significant proportion of the stock above 40lb, with approximately 25 fish being 50lb+, 11 x 60lb+ (to 69lb) 2 x70lb+ (to 77lb), and an astounding 95lb carp.

All the lakes are ex-quarries dug in the late 1930’s which have now matured with a
stunning forest backdrop.

The Lakes comprise of 4 lakes: 2 of which are currently used commercially (Main Lake at 12 acres (circa 300 carp) and Lac Noir at 6 acres (circa 200 carp)) and 2 lakes that are currently not used commercially (Westwood at 6 acres and Little China at 4 acres)

The site was also once a theme park therefore containing a number of buildings and structures. The property retains a leisure land classification with access to 3-phase power.

The main building includes a restaurant, bar and fully equipped kitchen adjacent to two large secure storage areas (10m x 15m) each with accessible power ideal for a
workshop, storing tackle and bait, additional freezer space, drying wood, storing
gardening and maintenance equipment.

The bathrooms occupy a separate building with a fresh coat of paint, a recently installed 300L boiler and facilities to accommodate multiple people in separate gendered areas.

There is a one bedroom cosy cabin with an enclosed security fence.

We have obtained planning consent to develop a house from one of the existing
structures (8.5m x 24.4m).

Brittany Forest Lakes represents a rare and almost unique opportunity to acquire a top tier carp fishing venue in France. The size of the fishery and the stock is incredible with the fish itself worth in excess of 500,000 euros. The site is beautiful and unspoilt and provides a tranquil and unique experience to the visiting angler. This is a rare opportunity to obtain and further develop the operation with significant bookings already in place this year. Additional information, please email ONLY if genuinely interested [email protected]

BFL is a UK Ltd company so no transfer or notaries fees payable if the UK company is purchased outright. A traditional sale is also available but will attract notaries fees and transfer taxes on the land value portion.

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 8th August 2026.

Again we only had of 3 Anglers here this week at Brittany Forest lakes two on Lac Noir and one on the Main lake. We desperately need rain. The Main lake continues to drop in level, given our depth it is not a significant problem, but the very warm water did make fishing very slow.

Main Lake

Geoff Burke was the single angler on the Main Lake, and it was hard going. Geoff managed to bank his only fish of 24lb early on the Saturday Morning. With nobody else on Paul did three nights and also managed just one at 37lb.

Lac Noir

Husband and wife duo Derek and Anne Marie Brock fished hard all week, with Anne Marie landing the only 2 fish at mid 20’s. She did lose a large fish estimated at 50lb plus at the net.

We desperately need rain, as does the whole of France. The grass and forest is dry and the lake water like bath water. Luckily our lakes are very deep so the fish will be OK. But it has put a dampener on fishing.

An advanced warning for any anglers coming to fish in the coming weeks-BBQ’s are banned in France at the moment, and with our large forest area which is extremely dry, we are observing that ban strictly. We don’t want a forest fire! So if you are drive and survive please don’t rely on the use of BBQ’s for cooking. We will update you when the ban is lifted, but we will need considerable rain.

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 1st August 2026.

We only had a group of 3 Anglers here this week at Brittany Forest Lakes and they spread themselves across the 2 lakes making the most of the venue

Main Lake

All the lads started on the Main Lake, with Chris Atterbury sticking out the week on there despite the fish were not feeding properly. PVA bags and singles accounted for his 3 x 30’s at 36lb, 35lb & 33lb. Duane Wallbank spent the first few days on the Main lake and manged 2 fish at 20 & 31lb, while Lewis Shelly managed one at 20lb. The fish were not feeding so Tuesday Lewis and Duane moved to Lac Noir.

Lac Noir

The move to Lac Noir proved fruitful, as both Duane and Lewis caught well. Duane had a great few days and topped an 11 fish catch with the jewel of the Lake Bryn’s Common at 66lb 8oz, Duane’s other fish were 51lb, 44lb, 46lb, 41lb (x2) 39lb, 35lb 33lb and 30lb (x2).

Lewis also did well getting in the 60’s club banking “Split Dorsal” at 63lb. We did not get Lewis’s other fish but we think he had another 5 fish being a mix of 40’s and 30’s.

Lac Noir’s water temperature is significantly cooler than the Main Lake making the fish more content to feed.

18 Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 18th July 2026.

He heat wave continues, making angling difficult, but nonetheless the 4 lads who booked Lac Noir this week all a caught fish (albeit one moved to the Main Lake). With one of the “A Team” putting in an appearance.

Lac Noir

Top rod in terms of numbers was Lee who had 8: 49lb, 46lb, 44lb (X2) 41lb, 38lb, 37lb & 17lb.

Dean only managed two fish but one of them was Bryn’s Common at 68lb! His other fish being 39lb.

On three fish was Rich: 39lb, 23lb and 15lb.

Main Lake

Matt was struggling to get amongst the fish on Lac Noir so a move to the Main Lake mid-week saw him bank 2 smaller ones saving a blank and providing him with his first French Carp: 23lb and 22lb.

The hot weather has made fishing difficult in the last few weeks it has to be said. With our deep lakes the fish seem content to simply sit in the top third of the depth, making angling for them difficult. A question we get asked a lot is the use of “Zigs”: You can use “Zig rigs” at Brittany forest lakes PROVIDED that you observe the rules and do not use artificial baits and have a length of tubing fixed within 12 inches of the hook to protect the flank of the fish from line damage.

We still have some availability later in the year- contact us for some last minute deals!

So now when you catch that PB you can immediately let your mates back home know!

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 4th July 2026.

It has been a quiet couple of weeks at Brittany Forest Lakes- The week before last we had no guests which given the heat-wave reaching temperatures of over 40 degrees was probably a good thing, last week we only had 2 guests on the Main Lake Father and son Brian and Matthew Ward.

Main Lake

Matt managed 4 fish in what was still a warm week- 33lb (x2) and 2 x 19lb. His father Brian left it late to bank three: 39lb, 34lb and 24lb. Given the conditions and water temperatures that was a good effort by the lads.

We still have some availability later in the year- contact us for some last minute deals!

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 20th June 2026.

We had one group of regulars have Lac Noir last week, again all anglers caught despite the ever increasingly warmer days.

Lac Noir

To rod was Johnny with 7 fish: Commons of 50lb (anther new 50!), 49lb, and 47lb, and Mirrors of 49lb, 40lb, 38lb, & 36lb.

Jimmy Meadon came close to catching Johnny up with a late flurry of fish totaling 6: 47lb, 46lb (Common) 43lb (x2) 39lb and 38lb

On two fish a piece was Alex; with 25lb and 19lb and Joe; 32lb and 15lb.

So far this season at approximately the halfway point not a single angler has blanked on Lac Noir.

We still have availability later in the year on Lac Noir, contact us for details.

Brittany Forest Lakes Catch Report W/E 30th May and 6th June 2026.

We had one group of regulars have Lac Noir for a fortnight and nobody on Main Lake week before last hence why we combined these two weeks.

Lac Noir

The first week on Lac Noir was tough. For the first part of the week the fish were pawning, immediately after the temperatures soared into the thirties making the going tough. The second week things improved significantly, with 2 of the A team gracing the bank.

Howard Ing banked Bryn’s common after spawning at 68lb and a new PB, Howard also had a fish of 39lb. Also getting a 60 was Tony Suarez with the Split Dorsal common at 60lb (again after spawning). Tony also had commons of 47lb, 44lb and a Mirror of 34lb.

Andy landed 5 fish topped by a 51LB 4 oz Mirror his other fish being 47lb (x2) 39lb and 33lb.

Jason was on three fish, all 30’s; 33lb, 31lb and 30lb.

Main Lake

The Main Lake had a rest for a week with no guests which allowed the fish to spawn undisturbed and to recover.

Last week we only had 2 guests on the Main Lake, but returning guests Andy Woonsta had a good week with a total of 14 fish: 50lb, 49lb, 47lb, 45lb common, 44lb X 2, 35lb common, 33lb X 2, 32lb X 2 (one a common) 30lb and 28lb X 2. His angling partner Craig Hunt fished hard all week but it was not happening for him and he managed one fish of 32lb.

Weeks commencing 5th and 26th September have become available on the Main Lake- deposit has been paid so contact us for a reduced-price deal if you are interested.
