What a beautiful competition! We enjoyed the forest, the experienced organisation, the ambiance 🌳🦄
On Saturday we started Echo's first international competition, on the 100km. He behaved like a champ! Easy to ride, happy to run 🏇
Sadly we were eliminated after the first loop due to irregular gate 😕
On Sunday we started Berezig on the CEI** 120km, he did wonderful! We enjoyed every km of the race, the beautiful flowers, the green woods,.. 😍
We are super pleased with how Berezig finished the race, allowing me to ride my first 2* endurance race, and assuring us that he is again very healthy and in great shape 💪🦄

We are one happy team 🤩

Sadly we are not ready for Monpazier CEI* this weekend.
Echo is currently suffering from a skin irritation on his back, so he can obviously not be ridden.
We are making sure he gets the right treatment and the time he needs to heal 🍀🦄

Mission accomplished! 💪
Second qualification for Echo d'Alauze with a splendid result, 4th out of 19 ❤️🏆

Very pleased with how he performed throughout the day and on the rather difficult track. The heavy rainfall during our second loop made it quite slippery, resulting in us losing a shoe 👟😔 but this didn't stop Echo, easyboot on and we completed the race.

It was great to be out competing again in Belgium after this long winter/covid break.

What a beautiful competition with a very experienced organising team! Merci! 👏
Due to the heavy rain on the day before our race, the terrain was very muddy and slippery. During the first loop, we were very cautious of the slippery clay ground and took great care to finish without taking any risks. We continued this mentality throughout the rest of the race. As the sun started to shine brighter, the terrain changed and became drier, sucking the horses feet and shoes into the mud. At this point, horseshoes were flying everywhere! 🙈
After the second loop, we quickly visited the farrier on site to reattach a shoe, ready to go for loop 3. On this third loop, we were riding alone, and Berezig was more relaxed and drank better at the crew points. Near the end of the last loop, we lost a shoe. Berezig didn't seem sensible on his foot at all, until we presented him at the vetgate, and his heartrate went up, leading to elimination. In hindsight, we should have tried to shoe him before presenting him, but as he seemed fine upon arrival, we didn't want to risk it.
Overall we are returning home with a fit horse, and we learned a lot from this race.
We will have Berezig checked out in the following days and then he can enjoy some well deserved rest. 🍀
