I would like to share with you my philosophy:
I am a Geek 🤓 So I enjoy technology and working on my laptop 👩💻 Recently, while having time to reflect and while practising Yoga 🧘♀️ - my other passion -, I realised that I’ve always felt this constant striving in me for discovering and applying new technologies in various fields 👩💼 :
As a teenager, when building my own homepage while using available toolboxes at that time 🖥 ; at high school I jumped on the optional school subject to discover HTML 🕵️♂️ ; during business studies I’ve worked on statistical softwares and was able to build small animated films using Powerpoint (!) 🎥 ; all my internships were related to technology and in front of the PC 🖱 ; I made strategic recommendations to IBM in Switzerland on how to use Social Media for business (Instagram didn’t even exist yet) 💬 ; even writing boring theses I found useful software plug-ins to help me be more efficient and have more fun 🎨🤹♀️.
Then I’ve worked 4 years for IBM in France as an ERP system designer where I surpassed myself 🥳🤓 , before leaving for 8 months of travelling 🌎 , and creating a Wordpress website on the go (couldn’t really stay away from my laptop while on the road) 🤭 ; and NOW I’m having a new project, of designing my own programme and have the fun of creating something 🤓👩💻
My mum has always told me that nothing in life should be regretted and that there is a sense to anything that happens (very wise, I know!) ☝️ And that you can achieve anything if you really want it. 🤩
And this has become a deep belief in me: Be confident in what you do and be kind and loving with the others - then the good things will come back to you. 🤝 In an endless way. 🎈🃏
And Yoga helps me to connect with those values when out there in the digital area, where human values are often left out a bit. 🤔
For my whole life I’ve been practising lots of sports 🏄♀️⛹️♀️🤸♀️ and over the past 6 years I’ve realised that Yoga gets me back down and grounded 🧘♀️ - and that the relieving of stress actually brings so many ideas to me 🤗💡. It helps me find calmness when my brain gets fried from all the ideas and input and energies around me.
Therefore, this year I have decided to do a Yoga Teacher certificate myself. Initially, I simply wanted to do it for myself, and to be able to practice on my own, wherever I am, in order to get me back connected internally when in need. 😇
Doing that certificate was an amazing and transforming experience, which helped me to find out many things about myself, and to believe in my strengths and capabilities - no matter what.
I now have the ability to transmit this philosophy, of using Yoga for stimulating ideas and creativity, and self-reflection. In order to be able to change, to overcome difficult times, and to be positive 😊
I am having a lot of fun teaching Yoga, and the exercise gives me structure in my digital everyday life. And it keeps in shape, and improves the laptop-damaged back posture ! 👩💻👨💻
So, there are only good reasons for me to actually make the teaching a little part of my work week. 🤓
I would like to give those sessions to you Geeks out there, in order for you to have the same benefit, be creatively stimulated and move something (and improve your posture) :-) 💛💛💛
Most of my friends are from many different countries, so I want to start with giving my sessions in English (maybe later in French, German, Spanish or whatever else). One of my personal challenges is to attract as many different nationalities per session as possible :-D (joking) 🇫🇷🇧🇶🇩🇪🇨🇳🇧🇷🇦🇼🇧🇪🇪🇺🇨🇭🇦🇺🇸🇪
My goal is to organise those Sessions from time to time, when I can find a suitable spot. For me it is fun, and I would love to give you guys a smile 🙂🙃 So let’s have fun together and build some happiness :-) 🥰 And exchange between technology-loving (or -interested) geeks 🤓🤓🤓 !
Who knows…? Maybe some great ideas will evolve from my yo.gi.va sessions 🌞☀️
