The clock is ticking with just a few weeks to go

Today, the ⛰️ Col du Galibier - here's a quick look.

DANGER POINTS mark the start of this climb as we rattle through Valloire. This is the toughest climb of the L'Étape du Tour de France 2026 rising to 2643M above sea level.

In this reconnaissance I cover the climbs, descents, likely danger points, water refill opportunities and a few practical tips that could make a big difference on the day.

The long road to Flaine. Our longest local climb, the Col de Pierree Carree tops out at 1880M having climbed 1346M over 21km from the valley floor. After the Col du Lauteret its the second highest pass that remains open all year accessing the ski resort of Flaine. A third of the way up the climb is the ski village of Les Carroz. Flaine is very quiet during the SUmmer months hence its virtually traffic free after Les Carroz.
