Rare (and very good quality!) footage of me at work yesterday on the Cosmique arête.

I would guess I’ve climbed the Cosmique arête maybe a few hundred times now over the last 25 years. It’s always a little different and is still one of my favourite routes at the AD grade in the Alps.

Thanks Arran for the video!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Another lap over the Brèche Puiseux in Chamonix today, this time with Arran. I’ve done this tour loads of times and think it’s one of the best Chamonix has to offer.

You get to ski (most of) the classic Vallée Blanche as an approach, have a pretty hefty skin to test your skills, a 300m climb up a couloir carrying your skis before 2 abseils take you into a super wild feeling combe under the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, one of the jewels in Chamonix’s crown.

It blends all the skills required and is a perfect ‘a bit more’ than ski touring, definitely into the realm of ski mountaineering.

A great descent on perfect spring snow under the Jorasses rounded off this quintessential Chamonix classic. Perfect training for Arran’s upcoming ski Mont Blanc 👌🏼

Great little video from our partners at Rab.

It can be hard at times to describe our work as Mountain Guides but I feel this video does it well.

High in the heart of Chamonix, one of the world’s most iconic alpine playgrounds, mountain guide and Rab athlete Pierre Idris “Pim” Mehdi reveals what it tru...

Ace day out touring in the Aravis yesterday to continue Arran’s prep to ski Mont Blanc in May.

Another good >1000m plus in the legs with some mountaineering and decent skiing too on the Trou de la Mouche. Stunning views back over the whole Mont Blanc range to boot.

Top day out 👌🏼

Ace couple of days ice fall climbing in Italy with and Codie.

Day 1 was Patri Gauche (a total classic) in Cogne and here are some pics from Antares Icefall in Valsavarenche yesterday. Primo connies 👌🏼

Top craic, lots of coffees and the now usual and eclectic sound off on the drives, bouncing round the houses between Snoop Dog, Wolf Alice, James Brown, HAIM and The Velvelettes.

As always ace to be out with team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿Until the next time… 💪🏼

Fancy exploring and climbing new routes above Chamonix this coming winter? I have a whole folder full of potential new objectives around the Aiguille Rouges and further afield crying out to be climbed.

Why might you want to try this?

•Climbing new routes is the ultimate adventure and the terrain in the Aiguille Rouges is very accessible using mostly the Flegere & Brevent lift systems. Approaches vary from 10 minutes to upwards of an hour and can be on foot, snowshoe or skis👌🏼

•You can have a very quiet, big adventure just 10 minutes away from the lifts! In a time when places are getting busier and busier you can still easily find quiet corners of the massif to explore with no long and complex approach’s or nights in refuges.

•The Aiguilles Rouges in particular is of a modest altitude (2500m) so no problems with acclimatisation and perfect for short / weekend trips 👍🏼

•You get to climb / explore new terrain and if successful name routes and draw squiggly lines as a topo 💪🏼

These adventures are available at all grades and are suitable for folks with prior winter climbing experience. The best time for these outings is from when the lifts first open at the end of November until around the end of February.

Along with plenty of new routing opportunities there are lots of established classics at all grades to go at too 👊🏼

DM for more info or if you’d like to book some time in.

📸 are of various new routes all climbed this last winter.
