22ft academy is a basketball skill development program with the main purpose of furthering the careers of up-and-coming players, whether it be sending players to a high school, prep school, or college in America or finding a pro level team in Europe. In order to accomplish this goal, the staff at 22ft is dedicated to pushing players to their outer limits during team practices, individual workouts,
and our strength and conditioning workouts. Players are expected to give nothing but their best efforts in everything they do at 22ft because playing basketball at a high level is a privilege. Our basketball program and strength training program are both designed by our head coach with the help of NCAA Division I coaches and trainers. This allows for our players to get a simulated feel for what big time basketball is about and the effort athletes must give to achieve such a level. Because of this, our players will have a much easier transition to their next level of play. A key aspect of player development is the ability for players to showcase their skills in game situations. At 22ft, our academy team plays 1 to 2 games per week against pro level teams here in France. We use these games to evaluate players, and we review the game tapes on a team as well as an individual level. A typical day at 22ft academy includes a team practice, an individual practice, a weightlifting/film/study session, and an individual meeting with the head coach to discuss the progress being made by each player. The bus leaves at 8 AM to transport players to our gym, which is a short ten minute drive away. Our first practice session of the day starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 10:30. Our players then return back to the academy, where they have a couple of hours to rest and eat lunch. After lunch, players will have either a weightlifting session, film session, or study session for those who are taking classes back home. The bus leaves at 4 PM for the second practice, which begins at 4:30 PM and ends at 6:30. Our players return back to the academy to have dinner and a few hours of relaxation before going to bed at 11 PM. Players at 22ft academy have the advantage of being a part of one of the few institutions in Europe that have an automatic rebound and pass shooting machine. Players have access to our Dr. Dish shooting machine on a daily basis, and it allows for them to go through drills in an efficient manner.
