Lac des Demoiselles

On-site gîte accommodation and a swimming pool make it perfect for anglers and relaxing holidays. We’re Hayley and Russell, and together with our two sons, Jacob and Ralphie, we are the proud owners of Lac des Demoiselles. In 2026, after many months of visiting, learning, and soaking up as much knowledge as possible from Mark and Yvonne, we were fortunate to purchase both the lake and our home from them. We’re now excited and ready to welcome guests to our beautiful corner of Bussière-Poitevine, in the Haute-Vienne department of the Limousin region in western France. Alongside our family home, we offer a charming gîte and 23 acres of peaceful land, centred around a stunning lake with full fishing rights. The lake is available for carp fishing and holds an exceptional stock of mirror and common carp up to 62lb, as well as tench, perch, roach and black bass. For drive-and-survive anglers, we provide a fully equipped mobile home overlooking the lake, offering comfort and convenience right on the water’s edge. In addition, our beautifully appointed self-catering gîte is available for both short and long stays. The gîte features a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed and a Juliet balcony overlooking Lac des Demoiselles, while the living area includes a double sofa bed that comfortably accommodates two additional guests. The gîte also benefits from its own private outdoor space. We offer 24-hour fishing, making Lac des Demoiselles ideal for dedicated anglers, while the gîte is equally well suited to guests seeking a peaceful and relaxing holiday in the rural Limousin countryside. Residents are welcome to enjoy the swimming pool, explore the surrounding nature walks, and immerse themselves in the area’s abundant wildlife. The lake is a haven for birdlife, with sightings including up to 20 golden orioles, black-backed shrikes, redstarts, black kites, kingfishers and several species of warbler, to name just a few. To help make your stay as relaxing as possible, we offer optional food packages, perfect for taking the pressure off after a long journey or maximising your time by the lake. For anglers travelling light, tackle hire is also available, allowing you to enjoy the fishing without the need to bring all your equipment with you. The nearest airports are Limoges–Bellegarde, approximately 53.5km away (around a 45-minute drive), and Poitiers Airport, approximately 72km away (around one hour by car). Car hire is available at both airports, and transfers can be arranged with prior notice. We’re also ideally located within easy reach of Limoges, Poitiers and Angoulême—three vibrant and interesting cities, each offering plenty to explore, from culture and history to shopping and dining.
