Geneva International Cricket Club vs Rhone Cricket Club

The thrilling T20 match between Geneva International Cricket Club and Rhone Cricket Club took place on 14th May 2023 at the Bout-de-monde in Geneva, Switzerland. This match was part of the Pickwick Cup T20 competition, specifically in Division 2, Round 1, organized by Cricket Switzerland.

Rhone Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bowl first, putting Geneva International Cricket Club into bat. Opening batsmen Pema Rinchen and Viney Saini took the crease, but Rinchen was dismissed early on LBW by Imran Khan in the first over. Saini, however, played a fantastic innings, scoring 62 runs, while Kuldeep Singh provided valuable support with 48 runs. Geneva International Cricket Club set a target of 178 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Imran Khan, Alamgir, and Khail were the standout bowlers for Rhone Cricket Club, each taking 2 wickets.

In the second innings, Rhone Cricket Club began their chase with a cracking start, scoring 94 runs in the powerplay. The opening partnership between Bilal and Mohamed Asif added 77 runs, with Bilal displaying an impressive knock of 81 runs before being dismissed by Mayur Padhye. Musa and Bharath contributed 32 runs and 23 runs respectively to comfortably finish the innings. Rhone Cricket Club successfully chased down the target in just 15.3 overs.

Bilal Ahmadzai was the top scorer for Rhone Cricket Club with his superb knock of 81 runs, while Musa and Padhye stood out with 32 runs and 2 wickets respectively. Balaji also chipped in with 1 wicket for Geneva International Cricket Club.

Bilal Ahmadzai's outstanding batting performance earned him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match.

In summary, it was an exciting T20 match that witnessed excellent performances from both teams. Rhone Cricket Club's strong opening partnership and Bilal Ahmadzai's remarkable innings proved to be the difference as they successfully chased down the target set by Geneva International Cricket Club, securing a convincing victory in the Pickwick Cup T20 competition.
