A stormy evening in Brest, Brittany.
The weather has been sh*tty all day... drizzle, even some showers... I came home wet from work, knowing that something was coming... The storm was on his way. No better day to test a 7m Enigma!
Once on the beach, a bit before 8pm, i was hesitating between 7 and 9m... knowing the wind would pick up it went for the 7.
Unpacking the kite for the first time is always a nice feeling. The bag is as good as it has always been with Hyde. The freebees in the sand bag are on point too. Pumping the kite was all good.
At the beginning of the session, I was riding in 25 knots, easy, and smooth. The oldschool moves went well, the kiteloops deliver a firm but consistent power and drag. I didn't push too much on this topic, as the wind picked up quickly ... the storm was moving in. Gusts went up to 45knots, I had to trim a bit, but not fully and keep the kite high to absorb the excess of power the kite was willing to deliver. Jumping went well, i knew where the kite was, without having to look at it. Dowloops to ease the landing were smooth. Got some air about 12-14m without pushing much and without good kicker... The goal was to stay alive.
All this being said, i'm super happy about the kite, it's the ideal kite for riding strong conditions, like we do have so often in Brittany, this is my 35+ knots kite from now on in big air!
