Our original Pyrenees gite, The Dragon Barn, nestles at the top of the picturesque mountain village of Ascou, in the Ariege Pyrenees. It takes its name from the dragon feature on the roof. The building is over 200 years old. The Studio apartment is now available for rent. It has been lovingly built with the environment in mind, reusing lots of old recycled materials. We have combined traditional

with ecological techniques, and collaborations with highly talented local artisans to create a truly healthy and unique space. The Studio is heated entirely by wood, and the hot water is provided by solar. Ascou is in the south of france in the Midi Pyrenees region and the department of Ariege. It is situated 3km from the popular mountain thermal town of Ax les Thermes. Ascou is at 1000m altitude, south facing and overlooking the ski slopes of Ax Trois Domaines, one of the largest resorts in the Pyrenees. the Spanish border is 48km away and the duty free haven of Andorra just 36km away. The closest major city is Toulouse, 1 1/2 hours away, with Barcelona a mere 3 hour drive.

Spring is well underway in the mountains, and we are busy preparing for our summer guests. The newest part of the dragon barn will be available for the first time this July and August! The upper appartment is known as Le Grenier (the hay barn) and can sleep up to 9 people. Message us or look us up on airbnb for more info. With love from the sunny mountains!
