Amen ! Martin 'Nutrition' MacDonald
Why are calorie deficits so hard to understand!?
⠀
If you’re in a deficit you WILL lose energy... mostly fat.. from the body.
⠀
The scales might not always shows this in the short term but a Calorie deficit WILL lead to fat loss!!!
⠀
A PREDICTED Calorie deficit is NOT the same as a ACTUAL Calorie deficit.
⠀
If you have a slower metabolism (e.g. metabolic adaptation) then fine... you’ll have to eat less to be in a deficit but... take ownership of it.
⠀
That’s you.
⠀
Maybe you need to focus on a different goal to fat loss for a bit!?
⠀
But
⠀
If you’re not losing fat, you’re not in a deficit. Fact.
⠀
Don’t look at hormones unless clinically indicated.
⠀
Don’t look at eating for your body type 😏
⠀
Don’t look at carb cycling 🙄
⠀
Don’t do some silly food intolerance test to see which foods are stopping you losing fat 😒
⠀⠀
Don’t be fooled into doing a DNA test to optimise your nutrition for fat loss 😂😂
⠀
Being able to sustain a small or large deficit is hard for some.
⠀
But focusing on the wrong things will make it even harder.
⠀
Hopefully some clarity on the matter can help some of you get your ‘eyes back on the prize.’
⠀
ENERGY BALANCE!
⠀
Any and all questions welcomed ❤️
⠀
Much Love
