The Hurricane Paragons are a team of breast cancer survivors who have have found the sport and support of Dragon Boating.

We are a friendly group ready to welcome new members to our team.

The sun was shining on us as we did our 200m races, right through to the very poignant Flower Ceremony. Time to reflect, to think about what has brought us to this point, to be thankful for the friends we now have in our very special paddling community and to think about those who can’t be with us and those we have lost 🐉🐲🥰

Thursday was the Opening Ceremony and Parade of Nations for the 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival. Some very poignant moments for reflection, but also a lot of love and laughter. Meeting up with old friends from around the world, but also meeting so many more. Swapping stories and pins and looking forward to getting out on the water 🐲🐉🥰

Two training sessions with our teammates from around the UK and Germany and we’re ready for racing at the IBCPC France 2026 Festival. 4,500 paddlers, 25 nations, 170 teams - the largest ever held. An amazing atmosphere, meeting fellow BCPs from around the world 🥰🐉🐲

It been an amazing week at the 17th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel. History has been made by BCP teams from across the world and amongst them were ladies from our team.
For the first time Breast Cancer Paddler races were included, with the teams racing in 2000m, 1000m, 500m and 200m races.
We started the week with fellow paddlers from across the country, but finished with good friends, all inspirational and courageous ladies who proved that they are a force to be reckoned with 🐲💕🇬🇧💪🐲
