FVF confirms that Fiji will not participate in the 2026 Oceania Zonal Volleyball Championships in Guam.

Entries for the 2026 Oceania Zonal Volleyball Championships closed on March 31, 2026. This was before the FVF 2026 Annual General Meeting and before the current Board took office on April 30, 2026.

Following clarification sought by FVF, OZVA has advised that entries cannot be reopened at this stage. FVF acknowledges OZVAโ€™s position and will now focus on strengthening Fijiโ€™s regional engagement and future competition planning.

FVF confirms that Fijiโ€™s pathway for beach volleyball remains open.

OZVA has advised that Fiji will have the opportunity to enter one menโ€™s team and one womenโ€™s team when the beach volleyball entry process opens. FVF is working with FASANOC to confirm the required process for these entries.

FVF acknowledges the disappointment this outcome will cause and asks the volleyball community for unity and support as we work to reset, rebuild and strengthen Fiji Volleyball.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ Inspired by the Game-Journeys Beyond the Court

Known to his friends and teammates simply as "Wise," Waisake Rabuatoka is a player whose journey reflects the values of humility, perseverance and respect. From his beginnings on the village green in Suvavou, to becoming Co-Captain of the Suva Men's Blues Team and a member of Fiji's national training squads, Wise continues to inspire those around him through his leadership both on and off the court.

Quick Profile

๐Ÿ“ Village: Suvavou Village
๐Ÿ“ Maternal Links: Savusavu, Nuku Balavu
๐Ÿ“ School: Adventist Secondary School
๐Ÿ“ Club: Redline Volleyball Club
๐Ÿ“ Position: Left Outside Hitter
๐Ÿ“ Height: 194 cm

Born and raised in Suvavou Village, Waisake developed his love for volleyball at an early age. His journey began on the village green, where countless hours were spent learning the game alongside family and friends.

Growing up, he would often accompany his uncles to volleyball tournaments and watch them compete in communities and settlements such as Jittu Estate, Newtown, Namadi, and Nakasi. Those experiences ignited his passion for the sport and inspired him to pursue volleyball seriously.

Rabuatoka started playing club volleyball at the age of 15, and later joined Delainavesi Inner Circle, where he continued to develop his skills and understanding of the game. His commitment and dedication eventually earned him selection to the Suva Men's Bluez Team in 2020.

Over the past three years, Waisake has proudly served as Co-Captain of the Suva Men's Bluez Team, demonstrating leadership and commitment both on and off the court. His calm approach and willingness to support others have earned him the respect of teammates and opponents alike.

Like many young athletes,he grew up admiring Fiji's national volleyball representatives.

"Growing up and watching my favorite Fiji reps play, I was determined that one day I would be able to compete at their level."

His dedication to the sport saw him earn selection into Fiji's national training programs, where he was a member of the Fiji Men's National Training Squad for the 2023 Pacific Games and the 2025 Mini Games.

Behind his achievements is the unwavering support of his family. He is one of five siblings and credits his family for being a constant source of encouragement throughout his volleyball journey.

Advice to Young People on Drugs

Wise is passionate about encouraging young people to make positive choices and stay away from drugs.

"Don't ever let drugs control you-you control it. You only have one life, so make smart choices"

Life Lessons Through Volleyball

For Wise, volleyball is more than a game. It is a teacher of life.

"Be humble. Don't judge people too quickly. Take the time to understand them because we all come from different backgrounds. We come from different families where we are taught to be humble and respectful. Honour God, respect others, and most importantly, show love. God will reward you for that."

He believes volleyball teaches discipline, teamwork, perseverance, respect, and compassion, qualities that are just as important off the court as they are on it.

As he continues his volleyball journey, Wise hopes to inspire the next generation to dream big, work hard, remain humble, and never forget where they come from.

We wish Waisake all the very best as he continues his journey to the national stage.

Inspired by the Game-Quiet Strength On and Off the Court-Lets meet Vasemaca Senivota.
Journeys Beyond the Court!

Quick Profile

Age: 18
Village: Nakaunakoro, Nakasaleka, Kadavu
School: Basden Anglican College
Club: Phoenix Volleyball
Position: Outside Hitter / Middle Blocker

Known to her friends as โ€œVasco,โ€ Vasemaca Senivota developed her passion for volleyball at just 11 years old while growing up in Tacirua Heights. Watching the neighborhood kids play quickly sparked her interest in the sport, which soon became more than just a pastime. Learning from older players around her helped shape her understanding of the game and inspired her to continue improving.

Despite being naturally shy, Vasemaca continues to grow in confidence through volleyball. Being part of the Suva Bluez womenโ€™s team and playing alongside former and current Fiji representatives has encouraged her to step outside her comfort zone.

Advise to young people on drugs:
Vasemaca believes volleyball has helped guide her towards positive choices and personal growth. She is passionate about encouraging young people to stay away from drugs and make decisions that will protect their future.

โ€œDrugs are a problem in Fiji, and I hope young people will make good choices to stay away from them. They can harm you and destroy your future.โ€

Through volleyball,Ms Senivota hopes to continue developing her skills, learning from experienced players, and becoming a stronger athlete and role model as she progresses in the sport.

Best wishes Va...
