This year, we proudly introduce the Captain Johnathan Smith Trophy at — a perpetual award honouring the late Captain Smith’s legacy of ocean stewardship, his leadership in the Clean Up Suva Harbour initiative, and his influential role with the Uto ni Yalo Trust.

🏆 Awarded to the fastest team at each business house regatta, the trophy celebrates racing excellence, community spirit, and deep respect for the ocean that sustains us.

The initiative is also a step toward advancing the work of the Captain Johnathan Smith Fund, which supports the removal of derelict vessels from Suva Harbour and drives long-term solutions to protect Fiji’s marine environment, strengthen the Blue Economy, and safeguard ocean-dependent communities. The fund is being advanced by the Blue Prosperity Fiji program and Waitt Institute 💙 🌊
