π«π― Team Fiji Swimming β Commonwealth Games 2026
Team Fiji swimmers have concluded their competition at the Commonwealth Games with outstanding performances, personal bests, national records, semi finals and a historic first-ever individual final.
β David βToluβ Young led the way, making history as the first Fijian swimmer to qualify for a Commonwealth Games individual final, finishing an incredible 6th in the 50m Freestyle. He also delivered strong performances across multiple events and relays, showing world-class consistency.
π₯ Anahira McCutcheon was one of Fijiβs standout athletes, reaching three semifinals and breaking three Fiji national and Open records. She showed exceptional speed and consistency across butterfly and freestyle events, finishing among the top 12β13 swimmers in the Commonwealth.
πͺ Samuel Yalimaiwai produced a national record in the 50m Breaststroke and reached the semifinals, confirming his rise on the international stage with strong, composed racing.
π Reuben Taylor delivered a series of personal bests, breaking the 24-second barrier in the 50m freestyle and continuing to improve across all his events, while playing a key role in relay performances.
β‘ Hansel McCaig was a reliable sprint performer, producing solid freestyle times and strong relay splits, contributing greatly to Fijiβs team results.
πββοΈ Don Younger impressed at just 19 years old, achieving a personal best in the 50m breaststroke and showing great potential across all breaststroke events.
πββοΈ Kelera Mudunasoko competed strongly in all breaststroke events and delivered important relay contributions, showing determination and consistency throughout the meet.
