โ€‹On Saturday (01/08/2026), our Suva Rugby Referees vuvale gathered to celebrate a major milestone! We came together to honor David Vosalevu following his successful outing as a match official at the World Rugby Junior World Championship in Georgia ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช.

โ€‹David was joined by his wife as our association celebrated his dedication and hard work on the international stage.
โ€‹To mark the achievement, two of our esteemed senior life members, Mr. George Fonmoa and Mr. Takape Volavola, presented David with a congratulatory certificate and commemorative plaque.

โ€‹During his speech, David expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the association, the executives, his family, and his wife for their unwavering support. Leaving our younger match officials with a valuable word of inspiration, he reminded everyone:
โ€‹"Doing the little things right mattersโ€”and it pays off."

CELEBRATING VAIBHAVI DEO! ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฏโœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ
โ€‹Huge congratulations to one of our very own, 13-year-old Vaibhavi Deo, who was specially honoured by New Zealand Rugby and Rugby Australia during the All Blacks vs. Ireland Test match at Eden Park in Auckland!

โ€‹In an unforgettable surprise arranged by NZR High Performance Referee Manager Chris Po***ck, Vaibhavi was invited from the stands to join the international match officials on the sidelines. She got to experience the national anthems and the legendary All Blacks haka right from ground level, shadowing the elite officials throughout the game to see what it takes to referee at the highest tier.

โ€‹To top off the incredible experience, international referee Nic Berry presented Vaibhavi with a signed World Rugby Match Official jersey in recognition of her incredible dedication to the whistle.
โ€‹Vaibhavi and her family extended their heartfelt appreciation to New Zealand Rugby, Rugby Australia, and Fiji Airways for making this dream trip possible, as well as acknowledging the continuous support of the Fiji Rugby Union and the Suva Rugby Referees Association in helping her develop.

โ€‹At just 13 years old, Letia is incredibly keen on taking up the whistle. Last weekend marked his very first time officiating as an Assistant Referee. He was in great company, joined by Theresa & David, two more of our fantastic young developing referees here in Suva.
