What an absolutely legendary conclusion to the 2nd Hong Kong High Five Baseball5 Championship! Our Team Fiji saved their absolute best performance for last on Day 3, leaving the entire arena in awe of Pacific baseball talent!

For our final showdown, our squad stepped onto the court to face Asian Star - a powerhouse team comprised of top elite players from across Asia who had cruised through the first two days of the tournament completely undefeated.

Here is how the epic grand finale went down:
🌟 Fiji vs. Asian Star (The Grand Finale)

* Set 1: Fiji shocked the arena! Playing with flawless chemistry, explosive power, and blinding speed, our team caught the tournament favorites completely off guard, winning the 1st set in stunning fashion! 😱πŸ”₯

* Sets 2 & 3: Looking to protect their streak, the Stars regrouped and shifted the momentum of the game. Despite our athletes fighting tooth and nail for every single run, the experienced Asian Star squad managed to claw back, taking the next two sets to secure a incredibly close, hard-fought match.

🌍 A Proud Journey on the World Stage;
Even though we didn't get the final win, this game proved that Fiji belongs on the Baseball5 world stage! Watching the progression of this team from Day 1 to Day 3 has been nothing short of inspiring. We pushed an undefeated regional superpower to their absolute limits and earned the respect of every team present!

Vinaka Vakalevu to our incredible coaching, and most importantly, our brilliant players who wore the noble banner blue with pride, discipline, and immense heart.

Out of the 6 team that competed, we earned the 4th place final standings. We were close of a medal, our goal next year is to be first place.

During the awards closing ceremony our hard working coach, manager, medics and father, the men behind us Inoke Niubalavu won the Best Coach of the Tournament, now that's a true testimony that we are heading into the right direction. Congratulations 🫑 🎊 πŸ‘ coach!

What a difference a day makes! Our Team Fiji athletes bounced back in spectacular fashion today on Day 2 of the 2nd Hong Kong High Five Baseball5 Championship, showing exactly what they are capable of with a flawless, dominant performance!

After taking yesterday's learnings to heart, a completely transformed Fiji team stepped onto the court today, playing with supreme confidence, elite ex*****on, and unstoppable energy to sweep both of their matches!

Our Baseball5 athletes left everything on the court today during Day 1 of the 2nd Hong Kong High Five Baseball5 Championship!

Stepping into the vibrant, fast-paced arena at D・PARK, our squad showed incredible heart and resilience against some of the Asia's top-tier talent.

Here is how the opening day unfolded:

⚾️ βœ‹οΈ Game 1 vs. Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (Blue Eye)

What a thriller to start the tournament! Fiji went toe-to-toe with a powerhouse club side. We gave them an absolute battle, pushing the match to a deciding third set before narrowly falling 2 sets to 1. The fight, speed, and spirit shown by our players in this opener was elite! ⚑

Game 2 vs. Team Hong Kong, China
Next up was the ultimate test against the highly experienced host nation. Despite a fierce effort from our squad, the clinical ex*****on of the Hong Kong National Team took the win in 2 straight sets.

✈️ HISTORY IN THE MAKING FOR FIJI BASEBALL5! πŸ‡«πŸ‡―βšΎοΈ

The Fiji Islands Baseball & Softball Association is officially heading to Hong Kong to compete in the 2nd Hong Kong High Five Baseball5 Championship.

This is a massive milestone for our nation. Our squad is making history as the very first Fiji Baseball5 team to ever step onto the international stage for a tournament!

After heartbreak missing out on last year's Youth World Cup due to travel logistics, nothing is stopping our athletes from flying the noble banner blue this time around.

Thanks to the Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China for the invitation and assistance in getting the team to Hong Kong.

We will be matching up against elite international competition, including the host nation Hong Kong, China, and top-tier club teams. The fast-paced, high-octane action takes place at the iconic D‧PARK shopping mall in Tsuen Wan from 11 to 13 September 2026.

Our players have put in endless hours of sweat, speed, and strategy to show the world how Fiji plays. Now, it's time to unleash that Pacific power!

Our Fiji Baseball5 Youth team will not be competing at the 2025 WBSC Baseball5 World Cup in Mexico due to visa processing challenges and limited financial resources that have made our participation unfeasible at this time.

We are incredibly proud of what our players have achieved and the strong commitment and dedication shown in their preparations.

Fiji Baseball remains committed to developing Baseball5 at the grassroots and national level. We will use this setback as motivation to prepare better and stronger for the future.
