🐾 Tule mukaan tekemään Agilityn MM-kilpailuista 2026 unohtumaton tapahtuma!

🟣Etsimme lisää vapaaehtoisia mukaan AWC2026-tiimiin 22.-27.9. Turkuun. Tarjolla on monipuolisia tehtäviä tapahtuman eri osa-alueilla, ja juuri nyt kaipaamme erityisesti tekijöitä infoon, lipunmyyntiin ja muihin avustaviin tehtäviin.

🌍 Kansainvälisessä tapahtumassa eri kielten osaamisesta on iso hyöty, joten kielitaitoiset ovat erityisen tervetulleita mukaan!
Ilmoittaudu mukaan nettisivujen lomakkeella, lisää talkooväkeä tarvitaan edelleen kaikkiin tehtäviin etenkin arkipäiville.

Agility is for everyone

The theme of the Agility World Championships 2026 emphasizes equality.

We want to use the event to promote and emphasize equality, diversity and equity both in agility and in the world in general. That is why the theme of the World Championships this year was chosen to be “Agility is for everyone”.
Agility is an exceptionally equal sport, where, for example, the gender or age of the handlers is irrelevant in training or competitions.

The Finnish Agility Association (SAGI) is committed to equality and equity in its values and strategy, and the theme is also currently topical and has a broad impact.

However, the theme of equality and equity has not been taken into account in agility competitions before the Finnish World Championships. The choice of theme is intended to convey the suitability of agility as a sport for a wide range of enthusiasts and to emphasize that absolutely everyone is welcome to the sport.

Agility kuuluu kaikille

Kilpailujen teema korostaa yhdenvertaisuutta.

Haluamme tapahtuman avulla edistää ja korostaa yhdenvertaisuutta, monimuotoisuutta ja tasa-arvoa niin agilityssa kuin maailmassa yleensäkin. Siksi MM-kisojen teemaksi valittiin tänä vuonna “agility kuuluu kaikille”.
Agility on poikkeuksellinen yhdenvertainen urheilulaji, jossa esimerkiksi ohjaajien sukupuolella tai iällä ei ole merkitystä harjoituksissa tai kilpailuissa.

Suomen Agilityliitto (SAGI) on sitoutunut arvoissaan ja strategiassaan tasa-arvoisuuteen ja yhdenvertaisuuteen, minkä lisäksi teema on tällä hetkellä muutenkin ajankohtainen ja koskettaa laajasti. Yhdenvertaisuus- ja tasa-arvoteemaa ei kuitenkaan ole ennen Suomen MM-kisoja huomioitu agilityn arvokilpailuissa. Teemavalinnalla halutaan viestiä agilityn soveltuvuudesta lajiksi laajalle harrastajajoukolle ja painottaa, että aivan kaikki ovat lajin pariin tervetulleita.

The fourth of our judges comes also from Finland: Reetta Pirttikoski!

Among many other competitions, Reetta has judged the Junior World Championships in Finland and last year the European Open in the UK.

“Agility has completely captured me – and there’s no turning back.

What matters most to me is seeing how people come alive as they run the courses, make their own handling decisions, and showcase their dogs’ amazing skills.”

The next one of our judges comes from Finland: Marko Mäkelä!

Marko has also judged many tryouts and national championships in different countries, Norwegian Open, Slovenian Open, US Open and WAO.

Our second international judge to be introduced is Michiel Lazeroms from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

“For all the years that I have been a FCI judge, there was one big dream for me. And that is to be a part of a World championship as a judge. It is therefore an honor to be part of the AWC judging team in 2026.

Agility at the highest level is always wonderful to watch, and I also enjoy seeing the different handling styles the participants bring with them. I hope to see many people again whom we’ve met over the past years at the competitions I have judged.

The teamwork between dog and handler is wonderful to see. In the end, everyone still takes their own world champion back home.”

Let’s start the introductions with Marleen Haeneefstingels from Belgium 🇧🇪

Marleen has also judged at major international events, including the European Open, Senior Open Agility and the Border Collie Classics.

“The honor of judging the Agility World Championship in 2026 in Turku, Finland, means an incredible amount to me. It is the result of years of passion, dedication, falling and getting back up — and above all, a lifelong love for dogs and for the sport. There are so many moments that leave a lasting impression.

Overall, agility simply gives me amazing vibes. I can still get emotional when I see a beautiful partnership between handler and dog — when the focus sharpens, the energy rises, and a team surpasses itself. Whether it’s at a small local competition or a major international event, that magic is always there.”
