What if the school playground could support learning, not only during breaks, but throughout the school day?
At De Jozefschool in Weesp, movement-based learning has become a practical part of education with the Memo Outdoor Classroom.
We spoke with school leader Yvette Tol about how the school uses Memo to bring lessons outside and give pupils a more active way to engage with language, maths, music and other learning goals. The Memo Outdoor Classroom builds on Lappset Interactive Memo, turning it into a complete educational concept with lesson cards, worksheets, vests and a didactic guide for teachers. Each Memo game can become a structured lesson, helping pupils practise subject knowledge while also developing teamwork, communication, cooperation and other 21st-century skills.
For schools, the value lies in usability. Teachers need tools that fit into a busy school day. At De Jozefschool, practical feedback from teachers helped shape materials that are clear, structured and easy to apply.
The result is an outdoor learning concept that helps make active learning more than an occasional activity.
