Ethiopian-born Canadian national team player, Ali Ahmed, arrived in Addis Ababa to a warm reception from officials including the CEO of the Ethiopian Football Federation, Mr. Bahiru Tilahun, and Mrs. Abebe Amare, Chief Executive of Sports Development at the Ministry of Culture and Sports. His visit, a collaborative effort by multiple ministries and the Ethiopian Football Federation, aims to foster success. Ahmed, who plays for Norwich City and has represented Canada in four 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, serves as an inspiration to Ethiopian youth. While he plays for another national team, his presence highlights the Ethiopian Football Federation's ongoing efforts to engage talented Ethiopian-born players worldwide and connect with the diaspora, opening new avenues for future partnerships.
