40. Grateful. Grounded. Growing.

Today, I turn 40.

Not just another year—but a marker of purpose, perseverance, and divine grace. From Owerri to classrooms across continents… from ideas to institutions… from dreams to duty—I’ve walked a path I didn’t fully understand, but faithfully embraced.

I celebrate not what I’ve achieved, but who I’ve become—and who I’ve helped others become.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey—family, friends, fellows, partners, and even the quiet encouragers. You’ve shaped me in more ways than you know.

And today, I plant new seeds:
- I unveil two books—INKTIMACY and Blueprints for Value Creation
- I launch the Responsible & Applied AI Fellowship for Nigeria—because the future deserves builders with both brilliance and conscience.

Here’s to building boldly. Living intentionally. And lifting others always.

Are Our Universities Truly Innovation Hubs?

Today, I had the privilege of delivering the 4th Convocation Lecture at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), where I challenged the audience to rethink the role of universities in Nigeria.

🔹 Should lecturers license their research before becoming professors?
🔹 Should universities work with SMEs to solve real-world problems instead of just publishing papers?
🔹 Should faculties be required to commercialize at least one technology before getting accredited?
🔹 Should students turn their final-year projects into startups instead of leaving them on shelves?

To take action, I launched ObichiPitchLab.com—a platform designed to help students transform their research into thriving businesses with expert mentorship and funding opportunities.

I also charged FUPRE to position Effurun as a hub for technological innovation and shared an 8-step approach for turning universities into true innovation ecosystems.

Nigeria has the talent and potential—now it’s time to turn research into real impact! The future of innovation starts NOW.
