Just finished Optimist Worlds in Buenos Aires.
Very happy to coach NORWAY team, having an outstanding performance in Team Racing and fighting hard in the individuals.
As I told my sailors, I take home good feelings but a bittersweet taste. We did good, but we were very close to do so much better!!! LIttle mistakes cost a lot when the fleet is so competitive!!!
The good thing is that we know where to focus our energies to prepare next Worlds.
We had a mix of sailing conditions, racing from 5 to 25 kts, flat and choppy, lots of current and wind from a different direction each day. So in my opinion, a very complete and successful championship.
Congratulations to the New World Champions, Nicolas Rolaz from SUI, THA in Team Racing and USA in Miami Herald. Well done!!!
Good race management, sailing 9 fair races, and not trying to push for more when conditions were not suitable. Thanks to Club Nautico San Isidro for hosting the event and opening the doors to all sailors and families. I'm proud of my yacht club and its people!!!
Now time to focus on the winter season....
Next Stop: Lanzarote
