AIDA Atlantic Cup 2026 Impressions 🥈.
Another absolutely brilliant event. Many thanks to and .
Germany on the podium twice again. Last year on the podium alongside Fynn Neb . This year with a remarkable young diver: . Vincent has only been freediving for 7 months; in that time he’s qualified as an instructor and, after just a few weeks of training, clocked a fantastic 65 m FIM and an incredible 50 m CNF (in a 5mm spearfishing suit… amaaaazing 😄).

The women’s field was truly world-class. .zecchini, Linda Paganelli , Mara Guida . ‼️Not a single man would have made it onto the women’s podium‼️

🥇 1st Place AIDA Freediving Ocean Cup 2026 in Lanzarote.
Yesterday 72 m Monofin. Today 75 m with Bi-fins. I hate tough dives and I don’t like ‘not-beautiful’ dives. I love my SINK POSITIVE Philosophy being as close as possible to technical perfection (or at least I want to feel perfect 😂 😂 😂) and to be in complete inner peace. But this dive was all about sheer willpower. Even during the warm-up, I could feel that after one week of deep diving my legs were tired today.
Then I messed up my start because I got tangled up in my relaxation floater. I didn’t charge my mouth properly before 30 m. At around 65–67 m, I lost my mouth-fill. Had trouble turning at 75 m and then battled my way back up with burning legs. I’m a firm believer in a freediving-philosophy of beauty and freedom from tension and no contractions. But today I learnt to dive AC/DC-style 🎶. “It’s a long way to the top …” 🎸🎶.
Although the dive wasn’t technically perfect and I felt completely exhausted on the surface, I learnt a lot: don’t give up when you want to breathe again 🤪. Even if you’d sometimes rather dive/live in a relaxed way, it helps to be tough when it counts.
I finally managed to catch my breath. The judge showed me the white card ⬜️ … And that meant 1st place at the Ocean Freediving Cup 2026.
