We practice yoga for living life.

Not so that we never get overwhelmed, upset or thrown off—but so that when life comes at us, we are better prepared.

These are four little practices I actually use on the go, when things get a little on edge and there isn’t time to sit down and meditate.

I have always loved clothes and style but the way I choose what to wear has definitely changed over the years.

Not because I stopped caring about how I dress when I became more immersed in my spiritual practice (quite the opposite, actually) I just started paying attention to different things.

How a fabric feels. How a color affects me. Whether I feel comfortable etc. How something works with a head cover. And whether what I’m wearing actually works rather than simply being something I like aesthetically.

I think style is something we can have a lot of fun with. We have to wear something anyways, right? Why not make it look good?

Rather than thinking style is something I shouldn’t care about if I “live a spiritual life”, I have found it to be another place where I can energetically refine and upgrade.

I wrote more about my personal style “rules” in my latest Substack.

And because I’m often asked where I find my clothes, I’ve also finally set up a ShopMy, where I’m collecting pieces I personally own and love + things I currently have my eye on.

You can find both through the link in my bio, or comments ’Style’ and I will send them to you.

What’s one of your own style “rules”? I would love to know.

Look, there’s nothing wrong with remembering your past with fondness.

There’s nothing wrong with drawing inspiration from previous decade’s music, books, photography, style, movies, lifestyle etc.

Where I (personally) draw the line is when we start thinking that the past was better than now, or when we get caught up in a romanticized fantasy of how the past decades actually were.

It is a false notion that the past was better.

The world is doing much better now than it ever has (yes, really!)

There are better chances for living a good life for the individual now, than there has ever been before (regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, gender orientation, financial background, etc.)

And any attempt to convince us otherwise, is a scheme to make us feel powerless, hopeless and limit our enthusiasm for life.

I really never thought I had much of an issue with social media.

I liked Instagram. I still do.

I like finding interesting people, ideas, brands and information. I like being inspired. I use it to learn new things too.

Which is why I became quite intrigued when I started noticing myself opening the app almost unconsciously.

Not because I had decided to spend ten minutes scrolling, but because apparently my hand had made that decision before the rest of me caught up.

I’m not particularly interested in deleting Instagram, getting a flip phone, or joining the choir of people singing the song of doom about technology.

I am interested in what it takes to live with increasingly magnetic technology without being unconsciously pulled around by it.

So I’ve been experimenting with how I use Instagram—and how I can set up the app so that it works for me, and makes me feel sovereign while I use it.

I wrote about what I’ve been experimenting with—including a few surprisingly simple changes I’ve made to my Instagram—in my latest Substack.
