Update on the condition of Hacienda Del Alamo Golf Course.

Due a problem with the supply of irrigation water over the summer months the course and especially the fairways have been in a very poor condition.

Having now secured a water supply ongoing the course have entered on what could be a 12 month recovery programmed to get the course back to the previous excellent condition.

Work started on 7th October 2024 and holes 10 to 18 will be closed until the end of the year with holes 1 to 9 open open but in a poor condition with very dry fairways.

In January 2025 holes 19 to 18 will re-open and holes 1 to 9 will close.

This ensures that 9 holes will remain open at all times if in a poor or improving condition.

The work will be completed by the end of February or early March and the course will improve with the increase in temperatures and hopefully by this time next year the course Condition will be good once more

Someone needs to sit them down and explain the tradition that is the Ryder Cup and most mortals would pay for the chance to take part.

Last of the Summer Wine.

What a hot Summer!

I guess for most golfers the beach and air conditioning have been more appealing than the golf course.

While I understand that for many resident pensioner golfers living on the Costa Blanca golf has become very expensive but as from the 1st September 2023 most courses go into high season when prices are at their highest.

Spring Price at Royal La Manga Club

The hotel at La Manga has been undertaking significant renovations in recent months and will shortly be re-open to the public.

In the meanwhile the three courses (North,South and West) are open to the public and we can offer some special Spring prices as follows:

Two players and buggy = €212

Now I know there are some people out there that will consider these prices too expensive for the ex- pat pensioner pocket but this is an exclusive resort and these prices reflect a 50% saving over normal public prices and these prices will suit many golfers.

GolfenAlicante Leisure SL purchased Costa Blanca Green Fee Services on the 1st January 2023 from Mike Probert who still remains as part of the business operating from the UK.

GolfenAlicante Leisure SL in the form of Jose and Fran Borja wish to offer the same professional service.

Low Season Price

Marshals required for Spanish Seniors Open at Aguilon.

The organisers of the Spanish Seniors Open are looking for 20 volunteer marshals to work during the Spanish Seniors Open at Aguilon with a meeting on the 14th December 2022 followed by the 3 day tournament.

The reward is a picnic bag each day,a commemorative t-shirt for the event and 2 x green fees to play Aguilon.
