Because here’s something we don’t talk about enough…

You can create the most beautiful off-grid life and still feel trapped if your income doesn’t support it.

The land is paid for.
The chickens are roaming.
The veg garden is growing.
You’ve created the slower life you always wanted.

“I’m just going to live off the land.”

I hear this ALL the time from people dreaming about going off grid.

And honestly, I get it.

Grow your own food. Have some animals. Solar panels. Live simply. Never worry about money again.

Sounds idyllic, right? 🌿

But after 8 years living off grid in Spain, I’ve learnt something…

You probably won’t be completely self-sufficient.

Yes, you can massively reduce your bills. Grow your own food, generate your own electricity, produce some of what you eat and save thousands every year.

But completely removing money from the equation? For most people, it’s just not realistic.

And that’s why community is so important. Everyone brings something to the table — skills, knowledge, food, animals, building, cooking, trading — and collectively, you can make this lifestyle work.

But for us, the real game changer was creating an online business.

We still grow our own food. We have solar. We have animals. We live very differently from most people.

But we also have an income.

And that income pays for the things the land can’t — renovations, trips, cars breaking down, eating out, our kids’ private school… you know, real life 😂

So yes, go off grid. Reduce your bills. Grow your food. Live closer to the land.

But don’t build your dream around never needing money again.

A reliable income can actually be what gives you the freedom to make your off-grid dream sustainable.

And for me, building an online business has been that piece of the puzzle. 🤍

In a world full of clubs and parties, you’ll find me watching a sunset thinking about life. 🌅

And honestly… that version of me would have been shocked.

I used to be the party girl.

I worked in nightclubs and bars. I loved the energy, the music, the late nights, the people… and I had some seriously fun times.

But underneath it all, there was always a little feeling that something was missing.

I just didn’t know what it was.

Looking back, I realise it was my connection to nature.

Because nature has a way of bringing you back to yourself.

The seasons changing.

The weather rolling in.

The sound of rain.

The first light of morning.

The colours of a sunset.

The stars appearing in a completely dark sky.

When you live off grid, you become so much more aware of these things.

You notice when the seasons change.

You plan your days around the weather.

You watch the sunrise instead of scrolling your phone.

You slow down.

You become more present.

And somehow, you start to feel connected to something bigger than yourself again.

I think so many of us have become disconnected from the natural world without even realising it.

We spend our days inside, under artificial lights, staring at screens, rushing from one thing to the next…

And then wonder why we feel exhausted, overwhelmed and disconnected.

For me, off-grid living has been a return.

A return to nature.

A return to slower living.

And, in many ways, a return to myself. 🌿

Maybe you’re craving that too.

Maybe the life you want isn’t louder, busier or bigger.

Maybe it’s quieter.

Simpler.

Closer to the earth.

And filled with sunsets that make you stop and think, “Wow… this is what life is supposed to feel like.” 🤍

Am I your modern-day off-grid girl? 👀

I hear “you’re not really off grid if you have WiFi or work online” ALL the time…

And honestly? I’m okay with that.

Because the reality is, WiFi is actually one of the things that makes our off-grid lifestyle possible.

Yes, I want more nature.

I want more freedom.

I want to grow more of our own food.

I want to generate our own electricity and get our water from our bore.

I want lower living costs and lower overheads, so I don’t have to work my soul into the ground just to pay for a roof over our heads.

But I can want all of those things AND have WiFi.

I can live off grid AND work online.

Because this is my version of off-grid living.

And actually, I feel incredibly lucky that the online world has allowed me to create this life for my family.

Even better, it means I now get to help women all over the world create the income they need to fund their own version of freedom.

Whether that’s buying land, moving abroad, building an off-grid home, travelling more, leaving a job they hate or simply having more choice over how they spend their time.

You don’t need to become someone completely different to build an online business.

You can take the skills, passions and expertise you already have and turn them into an offer that people genuinely want to buy.

Community is everything. 🤍

When I stepped into my new life, I had to let go of a lot of the old.

Including friendships that simply didn’t align with the woman I was becoming and the life I wanted to create.

And while that was absolutely the right thing for me, it can also feel really lonely when you’re creating a life that looks completely different to the people around you.

Especially when you live remotely.

Sometimes you can look around and think…

“Where are my people?”

Where are the women who want to live outside of the system?

Who dream of more freedom?

Who want to build an online business that supports their dream life?

Who want to grow their own food, create a beautiful home, spend more time with their children, travel, live simply and create a life on their own terms?

That’s exactly why I created the Wild & Free Women’s Circle. 🌿

I wanted to create a space where women could find their people.

A community of women who are all creating their own version of a wild and free life — and building the businesses that allow them to actually live it.

We meet twice a month on Zoom and have a shared WhatsApp group where we can stay connected in between.

We support each other.

We celebrate the wins.

We keep each other accountable.

We share ideas and encouragement.

I've saved over £100,000 by living off grid in Spain over the past 8 years!! 🤯

When we first decided to move off grid, the main reason was financial.

We wanted to massively reduce our living costs — especially things like utility bills — and create a cheaper, freer way of living.

But I sat down the other day and actually worked out what we’ve saved over the last 8 years…

And honestly, it blew my mind.

Across our two homes, we’ve spent around €9,600 in running costs.

Our first off-grid home in the mountains cost us around €50 a month to run.

Our current semi-off-grid home costs around €250 a month — and we’re in the process of making this one fully off grid too.

Now, when we left the UK, we were spending around £1,200 a month on rent, bills and council tax.

And that was actually pretty cheap because the farmer we rented from was a good family friend and gave us an absolute cracking deal!

If we had stayed in the UK and were now paying the average living costs for a family of four in a 3-bedroom house, we could have spent around £196,000 over those 8 years.

So when I say we’ve saved around £100,000, that's actually incredibly conservative.

🤯🤯🤯

And this is exactly why I’m so passionate about showing people that living off grid doesn't just have to be about escaping the rat race.

It can completely change your finances too.

Less money going out every month = more freedom, more choices and less pressure to constantly earn more.

These numbers have honestly blown my mind — and they’re a huge part of why I’m encouraging more and more people to explore whether off-grid living could work for them.

There is something incredibly fierce about a woman who chooses to live off grid. 🌿

I absolutely love feminine energy.

The softness.
The intuition.
The nurturing.
The connection to nature.
The ability to slow down and be present.

But don’t mistake softness for weakness.

Because underneath that feminine energy is a woman who is STRONG.

A woman who can run after her kids, tend to the vegetable garden, feed the animals, tackle a renovation project, carry firewood, fix things that break and somehow still get dinner on the table. 😂

A woman who has learned to adapt.

To figure things out.

To be resourceful.

To trust herself.

To get stuck in and do what needs to be done.

And perhaps one of the most beautiful things about off-grid living is that it brings you into the present moment.

The weather matters.

The seasons matter.

The animals need you.

The garden needs you.

Your home needs you.

You can’t always postpone things until tomorrow.

It calls you into a deeper relationship with yourself, your environment and your own capability.

There is softness in being connected to nature.

But there is also an incredible fierceness.

And I think that combination is bloody powerful.

We can be feminine AND fierce.

Soft AND strong.

Nurturing AND capable.

And that, to me, is the magic of being a wild woman. 🤍🌿
