The club house is 1 km from Avenida de España. Alongside hole number 8 is the driving range and the golf academy. The club is open every day from 9 a.m. The essence of La Siesta is twofold. First getting people started in the game of golf and giving them a serious challenge. Those who have graduated to the lower handicap category will still enjoy a 9 hole or more visit to La Siesta between their r
ounds on championship courses as La Siesta is challenging enough to keep the all important "short game" sharp. The second important aspect of the Club is its strong social life. This is built around the 4 golfing societies that operate weekly and offer opportunities for new guests to join and meet the regular members who are mostly residents and regular visitors to Sitio de Calahonda and the urbanisations between La Cala de Mijas and Las Chapas in east Marbella. Just ask at the office and you can join the next society event as a guest. Recent beginners and intermediate level golfers will be attracted to the 9 hole competition societies operating from our range on Calle Golf, whereas those preferring to play 18 holes should come on Wednesday/Sundays to the WSS Society or on Fridays (FAS - Friday at Siesta).) A significant number of players are members of multiple societies, especially for the 18 hole events. Each society operates a handicapping system designed to ensure everyone wins a prize on a regular basis. After the 9 hole societies there is always a social gathering at the range. The 18 hole societies meet at the La Siesta restaurant and on the first Sunday of each month will have a tapas lunch. The societies also off course events, such as an evening meal with music and dancing as well as a snack and a golfing quiz. At Christmas time a coach party goes to Málaga to see the lights. Newcomers to Calahonda and the local vicinity are made to feel welcome and they quickly make a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
