Rooted in nervous system regulation and whole-body balance. About Suzanne – Suaimhneas Natural Health

Welcome to Suaimhneas Natural Health! I’m Suzanne, the founder and heart behind this holistic wellness practice. Originally from the serene coastal village of County Kerry, Ireland, I’ve always found peace by the sea. My journey into health and wellness began 10 years ago with a 4-year BSc (Hons)

in General Nursing. As a registered General Nurse, I’ve combined my medical knowledge with holistic practices to offer a unique approach to health. I’m now a licensed Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, having recently completed a 3-year Diploma in Acupuncture and TCM in Dublin, Ireland. My passion for holistic health led me to volunteer in Nepal for 3 months with an NGO, providing free primary care through acupuncture and TCM—a deeply enriching experience. In addition to my acupuncture practice, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in India. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to teach yoga in Kerala, India, and Sri Lanka, further solidifying my commitment to a holistic and integrative approach to health and wellbeing. At Suaimhneas Natural Health, I aim to support your body’s innate wisdom to self-heal through acupuncture, TCM, and yoga, fostering a sense of peace, calmness, and balance. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about how these practices can benefit you. Take care, Suzanne 🍃

One of the most valuable aspects of yoga is repetition.

We return to the same poses, the same breath, and often the same sequences. From the outside, it can look like we’re doing the same thing over and over again.

But repetition creates awareness.

At the beginning of my journey with yoga I had moments where I found the practise ‘borning’, but there was something that kept drawing me back to the mat and practise. In time I learned this was deepening my awareness.

The more familiar the practice becomes, the more we begin to notice.

We become aware of our habits off our mat, how we react to situations, our thoughts and our bodies sensations.

Yoga practice gives us an opportunity to observe without judgement. This is one of the reasons I returned to my mat again and again at the beginning of my practise, as I noticed a subtle change of my body, mind and reactions off the mat.

This is one of the reasons practices like 108 Sun Salutations can be so powerful. Through repetition, the focus shifts from achieving to simply being present.

Yoga isn’t about perfecting the pose. It’s about developing awareness.

And awareness is often where meaningful change begins.

Thank you to everyone who joined our Summer Solstice 108 Sun Salutations practice and donated so generously. Together we raised €170 for Ibiza Preservation Sostenibilidad ambiental | Environmental sustainability

This organisation holds a special place in my heart. Living on these islands and spending so much time by the sea, on the beaches, and immersed in nature, I feel incredibly grateful for the landscapes that surround us every day.

The work of protecting Ibiza and Formentera’s natural environment helps ensure that future generations can experience the same beauty, biodiversity, and connection to nature that we are fortunate to enjoy.

Our practice yesterday was a reminder that yoga extends beyond the mat. Through movement, breath, intention, and community, we can also contribute to something greater than ourselves.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared their energy, and supported this cause.

With gratitude,
Suzanne x

Rest is a luxury.

The past few weeks have been full on working 7-day weeks while also filling free time with social plans, connection, and fun.

While I genuinely love my work and spending time with the people, I’ve been reminded this week that rest and time alone is what I need to be my best self.

My body decided this for me after becoming unwell, I had to cancel plans, slow down, and listen to what my body was asking for. Rest.

As someone who thrives on connection, movement, and being busy, I’m often my own worst enemy when it comes to packing my calendar to the brim. And if I’m being honest, I’m not always the best at taking the same advice I give my acupuncture clients. We talk so much about listening to our bodies, honouring our energy, and remembering that rest is just as important as movement. And this week I had to remind myself of this and practice what I preach!

Yesterday I cancelled all plans (except two acupuncture clients in the evening!) and spent the day alone, swimming, reading and recharging. It was just what I needed and bliss!

One thing I’ve also restarted over the past few weeks is regular self-acupuncture. It’s become a way to check in with myself, support my nervous system, and help keep my body stay balanced so I can show up as my best self, for my clients, my loved ones, and myself.

This week has been a reminder that rest isn’t something we earn once everything is done. It’s an essential part of staying well.

So if your body has been whispering for you to slow down, perhaps this is your reminder to listen before it starts shouting. 🤍

How do you know when your body is asking for rest?

Take care,
Suzanne x

108 Sun Salutations ☀️

Why 108?

Across yogic and spiritual traditions, 108 is considered a sacred number. A symbol of the relationship between the individual self and the greater universe.

There are said to be 108 energy lines, or nadis, converging at the heart center. A mala contains 108 beads for meditation and prayer. Ancient astronomers observed meaningful relationships involving the sun, moon, and earth reflected in the number 108. Again and again, this number appears as a reminder of connection, wholeness, and the intricate order woven through existence.

To practice 108 Sun Salutations is to enter into that symbolism through movement.

The repetition invites us beyond the thinking mind. Somewhere between the first and the last salutation, the practice ceases to be about counting and becomes an exploration of presence. Breath by breath, we meet resistance, devotion, fatigue, determination, surrender, and renewal.

On the Summer Solstice, the day of greatest light, we will move through 108 cycles as a reflection of life’s own rhythms: expansion and contraction, effort and ease, endings and beginnings.

The significance of 108 is not that we arrive at a number. It is that, through repetition, we remember our place within something larger than ourselves.

108 bows to the sun.
108 breaths of gratitude.
108 reminders that we are both part of the universe and expressions of it.

✨ May this Solstice illuminate the path ahead and deepen our connection to the light within.

Join us Sunday 21st June for 108 Sun Salutations at the beautiful space of Punta Galeria, just outside San Antonio, Ibiza!

If you would like to join send me a DM,
Suzanne ✨

NADA Ear Acupuncture for Recovery Support

The NADA protocol uses five gentle ear acupuncture points to support addiction and the nervous system, reducing stress, and creating a sense of calm during the recovery journey.

🌿 Sympathetic – Helps settle the body’s stress response and encourages relaxation.

🕊️ Shen Men – Brings a sense of calm, helping to quiet a busy mind and ease anxiety.

💧 Kidney – Supports inner strength, resilience, and the ability to cope with challenges.

🍃 Liver – Helps release tension, frustration, and feelings of overwhelm.

🌬️ Lung – Encourages deeper breathing, emotional release, and the process of letting go.

Together, these five points create a space for stillness, grounding, and healing. While NADA is not a replacement for treatment or counseling, it can be a valuable support when experiencing addiction, helping to promote emotional balance, reduce stress, and provide a quiet moment to rest and reset.

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching yoga is the connections we make and the people we cross paths with from all over the world.

Last winter in Goa, I met Charlotte and had the privilege of guiding their very first Vinyasa class before they began her 200-hour YTT at Sampoorna Yoga . During their recent visit to Ibiza, they reminded me of that special moment and how I also had the honour of guiding her first practice here on the island.

Moments like these are a reminder that yoga is so much more than movement. It’s about connection, growth and shared experiences.

I am truly grateful for this path, the people it brings into my life, and the opportunity to witness and support each persons journey. ✨

Do you often experience tight shoulders, a stiff neck, or tension along the sides of your body?

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, these patterns can be associated with the Liver (LV) and Gallbladder (GB) meridians. The Gallbladder channel travels through the side of the neck, shoulders, and body, while the Liver and Gallbladder work together to support the smooth flow of Qi throughout the body.

When Qi becomes stagnant, often due to stress, emotional tension, overwork, or lack of movement, we may experience tightness, discomfort, irritability, or restricted mobility.

Fire cupping can help encourage circulation and movement through these areas, supporting the body’s natural ability to release tension and restore balance. Combined with acupuncture, mindful breathing, and yoga, it can be a powerful way to address both the physical and energetic aspects of holding stress.

✨ Common areas treated:
• Upper trapezius and shoulders
• Side of the neck
• Between the shoulder blades
• Lateral back and rib cage (along the GB pathway)

As both a yoga teacher and acupuncturist, I often see how emotional stress is reflected in the body. Creating space through movement, breath, and therapeutic treatments can help us reconnect with a greater sense of ease.

Have you noticed where you tend to hold stress in your body?

108 Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) for the Summer Solstice ✨🌞

Join us at the magical Punta Galera, Ibiza as we welcome the Summer Solstice with a special yoga practice dedicated to movement, intention, community and giving back.

We’ll flow through 108 Sun Salutations together. A moving meditation to honour the turning of the season, connect with ourselves, and share energy with others.

In yogic tradition, the number 108 is considered sacred, representing wholeness, connection and the universe itself. Completing 108 Sun Salutations is often used to mark significant transitions, such as the change of seasons, helping us release what no longer serves us and step into a new chapter with clarity and intention.

This practice will be dedicated to giving back to the island, with donations supporting IbizaPreservation. An organisation working to protect Ibiza’s natural beauty, land and sea for future generations.

📍 Punta Galera, Ibiza
• Summer Solstice Morning - Sunday 21st June
• 8:30am

Everyone is welcome, whether you complete all 108 or simply come to share the energy and intention.

I have equipment available for 10 people. If you’d like to join, please message me to reserve your place. Friends are very welcome too (please bring your own mat if you have one to save mats for those who do not).

To make getting there easier and reduce our impact, please message me to join the WhatsApp group for carpooling and transport coordination.

Let’s move, breathe and celebrate the light together, while giving back to the beautiful island that holds us. ✨

Suggested donation in support of IbizaPreservation.

DM me for details, to reserve your spot, and to join the WhatsApp group.

Emotion is energy in motion.

What we feel is energy asking to move.

Through yoga, breath, and awareness, we create space for Prana, the life force within us to flow.

Inhale. Release. Move. Transform. ✨
