Sotogrande is left without the Andalusia Masters 2025
The DP World India Championship, scheduled for 16-19 October, will take the place that historically corresponded to the tournament in Sotogrande
The definitive publication of the DP World Tour calendar for the remainder of the 2025 season without including the traditional Estrella Damm N. A. Andalucía Masters officially confirms the disappearance of this tournament, which for years was played at Real Club Valderrama and in more recent versions at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande
As confirmed by the circuit, the DP World India Championship, scheduled between 16 and 19 October, will occupy the place that historically corresponded to the Andalusian tournament on the European calendar. The Spanish Open, which will be held from 9 to 12 October in Madrid, will be the only professional event in the national territory organized by the European circuit this year
The absence of the Andalusia Masters marks the end of an emblematic stage for golf in San Roque and Sotogrande, which since 2017 had been hosting this event continuously, attracting the sport's top international figures. In its last edition, in 2024, the winner was Julien Guerrier, after defeating Jorge Campillo in a very long eight-hole playoff.
The decision leaves Sotogrande without one of its most international events, both sportingly and touristly. The future of the Andalusian tournament is on hold, with no confirmation of its return in the coming seasons, while elite golf is diverted to other national and international venues.
