A few simple technical cues that make a big difference:

Get your feet to the ball first — don’t just reach with your arms.
Stay low and balanced so you can adjust late.
Create a firm platform with locked elbows.
Angle your platform early toward your target.
Control your follow-through — don’t swing at the ball, guide it.
