“TIPSY SOCIAL TENNIS “FRESHMEN” VS TUI/MWF SOCIAL TENNIS “GRADUATES”
ANNUAL CHARITY SOCIAL TENNIS CHALLENGE 21ST FEBRUARY 2026
VENUE – “TIPSY” RESTAURANT, BAR AND SPORTS CENTRE, LOS GIGANTES, TENERIFE
On Saturday 21st February 2026, the “Tipsy” restaurant, bar and sport centre, hosted a tennis tournament held between the Tipsy Social Tennis Team named the “Freshmen” in an annual challenge against the TUI Hotel/MWF “Graduates” mainly comprising players from the local social tennis community, many of whom originally started their participation within the Tipsy Social Tennis environment.
A few years ago, this annual event was changed into a “Charity” event to raise funds to donate to local charities or good causes. The Tipsy Social Tennis Community had already donated, late last year, €202.04 to P.A.W.S, a locally based animal charity that cares for abandoned dogs. After the recent tournament, a new fund total increased to € 517.75 this, or any greater amount, is to be split at the end of the current 2025-2026 Winter season, between F.A.C.T. (Fight Against Cancer in Tenerife) and the San Juan Association, who run a non-profit community for the nurturing, development and integration of mentally disabled people through nature and art.
We thank the players for their participation, their contributions via entry fees, other donations from our “You Cannot Be Serious” tennis players, our friends and supporters. No costs were charged by the organiser, no incidental costs applied – every cent of every euro donated will be given to the respective charities except for possible bank charges when we pay in the cash!!!!
The day was concluded with a celebration Post Match Supper in the Tipsy Restaurant
The Tipsy Social Tennis Community Fund is supported by the management of “Tipsy” through offering use of their courts free of charge and we thank Dani - The Tipsy Manager, and the rest of “Team Tipsy” (their wonderful staff) for all their hard work and generosity to make it such a successful day.
