🌊 Golden Boats Academy – through the Sailing Season 2025 🌊

Golden Boats Academy keeps evolving – because standing still means moving backward.
In 2024 we took a bold step: full international expansion with our base in Gandia, Spain. 💥 the bubble burst! Our program turned out to be exactly what sailors from all over Europe (and beyond) had been waiting for.
👉 Our mindset is simple: do the job the best we can. Then improve it. Then dream about what else we’d want if we were on the other side. That’s how we grow.

From February 7th to 17th, 2025, the Golden Boats Academy hosted a memorable camp in Valencia, offering participants accommodation with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. The camp culminated in the Eurocup2 Regatta, part of the European Cup series, held in Valencia.

In this event, 85 teams competed in the 29er class.

Amidst the picturesque scenery, under the radiant sun and swaying palm trees, our crews engaged in intensive training during the 11-day stay, leading up to a successful regatta performance.

The Belgian duo, Lotte Meynen and Quinten Oppstale, showcased their high caliber by securing the silver medal in the Mixed classification. This achievement follows their gold medal win at the first European Cup in Palamós two months prior. Meanwhile, Gustav Jessen and Noah Blocher from Denmark faced a challenging final day of qualifiers, which included being towed to port, a mast replacement, and unfortunately, a false start under the black flag. Despite these setbacks, they persevered to place 3rd in the silver fleet, demonstrating commendable resilience.

Valencia is a stunning location for sailing during the winter and spring, and truly, all year round!

We have one spot remaining for our upcoming camp in March, organized for 8 crews in collaboration with coach Caroline Atwood of SKIFF+. This spot is available for a crew with their own equipment, as all charter equipment has already been reserved. October marked the official close of the previous season, and now we're opening a new chapter. We've established the 2025 Golden Boats Academy group, with the first event being the "Eurocup Garda" regatta in Italy. We're working with the young and highly motivated Belgian team, Lotte and Quinten, who were the first to join the 2025 Golden Boats Academy.

After six qualifying races, we missed the Gold Fleet by just a few points. This taught us that while our speed and strategy are strong enough to contend for the top 5 in individual races, our starts need more precision to launch us cleanly and quickly. We focused on refining starts in the Silver Fleet, and by the second day, we achieved some impressive results from solid starts, finishing 5th and 2nd in individual races. In the end, the team secured 6th place in the Silver Fleet, ranking 39th out of 131 boats overall and 5th in the mixed category.

That same weekend, the Polish PGE Cup regatta took place in the "Virtual Regatta" with large-scale virtual racing over three days. Our coach, Inga Bui Bang, advanced to the Top 10 in the finals among 70 sailors and ultimately finished 6th, taking first in the women’s ranking.

Congrats for good results and hard work in both events!

This is just the beginning of our golden path with Quinten and Lotte in the 29er class. Later this year, we still have some intense training camps ahead in Valencia and Palamós. Keep your fingers crossed, and see you at the regattas!

Let's help Johnny finding a new helmsman/ helmsgirl to participate in Eurocup Finals.

Johnny (Jan Chylarecki) just finished 2024 season with Bartosz Peczka winning silver medal on 29er Polish Sprint Championship. While Bartek changes class to wingfoil, Johnny is looking for a new "driver" with whom he could start in the Eurocup Final at Garda. Long-term cooperation possible. We are definitely looking for someone light.

Congratulations to the entire GOLDEN BOATS ACADEMY team for the great work and medal-winning results at the Polish Championships!🥇 Kaja Śledzińska and Leon Sapijaszko won the gold medal in the men's category 29er class (and second place overall 🥈). A big round of applause also goes to Marianna Gębicka, who sailed this season with Antonina Puchowska from YKP Gdynia, for winning the silver medal in the women's category!

The whole team worked very hard this season, making significant progress. Not everyone is visible on the podium, but the hard work of everyone involved will definitely pay off and bring more fantastic results in future regattas. We're rooting for more success to come!

Gratulacje dla całej ekipy GOLDEN BOATS ACADEMY za dobrą robotę i wypracowane wyniki medalowe na Mistrzostwach Polski! 🥇 Kaja Śledzińska i Leon Sapijaszko zdobyli złoty medal w klasie 29er w kategorii męskiej (i drugie miejsce w klasyfikacji generalnej 🥈) Ogromne brawa również dla Marianny Gębickiej żeglującej w tym sezonie z Antoniną Puchowską z YKP Gdynia za zdobycie srebrnego medalu w kategorii kobiet!
Cała ekipa pracowała bardzo ciężko w tym sezonie, robiąc spory progres. Nie wszystkich widać na podium, ale ciężka praca wszystkich na pewno zaprocentuje i przyniesie dalsze fantastyczne rezultaty - również w następnych klasach regatowych. Trzymamy kciuki za kolejne sukcesy!

Żeglarski maj za nami, 20 dni treningu i regat na polskich wodach w pełni zamknęło okres przygotowawczy i uruchomiło czas startów.

Grupa 29er wzięła udział w owocnym szkoleniu międzyklubowym, które odbyło się w Gdyni, na akwenie zbliżających się tegorocznych Mistrzostw Europy klasy 29er, a także wystartowała w Pucharze Polskiego Związku Żeglarskiego w Krynicy Morskiej.

Gdynia przyniosła małe zmiany składów - Wiktor Wróbel i Mateusz Kluczka zamienili się rolami na jachcie - by lepiej sprostać wymaganiom technicznym klasy. Mieliśmy też pierwsze testy kandydatek do grupy na sezon 2024/2025.
Chętnych już teraz zapraszamy -> mamy wolne miejsce dla niedużej sterniczki/sternika od zaraz , ewentualnie dla całej przechodzącej załogi z opcją dołączenia do obecnej grupy.

W Pucharze PZŻ ---> wśród naszych reprezentantów wybitne 1 miejsce w kategorii kobiet zajęła Marianna Gębicka, żeglująca w tym sezonie z partnerką z Gdyni - Antoniną Puchowską.
Ciekawostką jest fakt, że jest to 5 sterniczka Marianny na przestrzeni 5 sezonów, nie licząc np. treningów z Dominikiem Buksakiem na sterze ;)
Pozostali zawodnicy GBA potrafili pływać w regatach wysoko w poszczególnych wyścigach, ale borykali się z trudną misją systematycznego dowożenia wysokich miejsc do mety. Każda z pozostałych załóg była też na tyle niecierpliwa, by zaliczyć falstart.

W przerwie między obozami klasy 29er trener Marcin Józefowski wstrzelił się w regaty otwarcia sezonu Pucharu Polski klasy 505 - żeglując z Jakubem Pawlukiem w Sailing Legia nad jeziorem Zegrzyńskim gospodarze zajęli 3 miejsce (również zaliczając 1 falstart :P )

Teraz misja --> nadchodzące zakończenie roku szkolnego i ostatni wyścig po piątki - uwaga - tutaj warto zacząć wcześnie, falstartu nie będzie :)

W przyszłym tygodniu widzimy się znów w Gdyni na kultowym Pucharze Prezydenta!

In the Semaine Olimpique Francaise "Last Chance Regatta", sailors from Poland took top places in many categories. Additionally, the regatta was also held in a virtual version - for the first time in the history of Virtual Regatta, a female player qualified for the semi-finals of the World Championships. We are pleased to boast that it is Inga Bui Bang from Golden Boats Academy, sailing with the nickname La_Jefa_GBA. Inga Bui Bang finished the regatta in 4th place overall.

The 11-day Easter training block of the Golden Boats Academy 29er class crews in Hyeres, France, is coming to an end.
We sailed here for the first time - with curiosity about the venue and respect, because it is one of the legendary strong-wind sailing spots of Europe. We encountered winds from every direction, both gentle zephyrs and squalls of several dozen knots moving behind the clouds.
We managed to train in excellent international company and complete a regatta in which 8 races were held with over 100 boats. The wind during the regatta was slightly more capricious than during the training camp and for 8 races it gave us a cross-section of various regatta conditions from 0 to 40 kt! We had a few damages, the regatta equipment was subjected to heavy overloads in such conditions.
We return from Hyeres with new experiences, improved elements that we wanted to work on and an analysis of what still needs to be done before the main regatta of the season.
Next GBA Stop: Medemblik, The Netherlands! :)

11 dniowy wielkanocny blok szkoleniowy Golden Boats Academy dla załóg klasy 29er we francuskim Hyeres dobiega końca.
Żeglowaliśmy tu po raz pierwszy - z ciekawością akwenu i respektem, gdyż jest to jeden z legendarnych mocnowiatrowych akwenów Europy. Spotkaliśmy wiatry z każdego kierunku, zarówno delikatne zefirki jak i kilkudziesięciowęzłowe szkwały poruszające się za chmurami.
Udało się potrenować w doskonałym międzynarodowym towarzystwie i zaliczyć regaty w których udało się rozegrać 8 wyścigów w stawce ponad 100 jachtów. Wiatr podczas regat był nieco bardziej kapryśny niż podczas zgrupowania i na 8 wyścigów dał nam przekrój najróżniejszych warunków regatowych od 0 do 40 kt ! Mieliśmy parę awarii, sprzęt regatowy w takich warunkach poddawany był bardzo dużym przeciążeniom.
Wracamy z Hyeres z bagażem nowych doświadczeń, poprawionymi elementami nad którymi chcieliśmy popracować i z analizą tego, co jeszcze jest do zrobienia przed głównymi regatami sezonu.
Następny przystanek GBA: Medemblik, Holandia! :)
