Our cycling retreat sits directly above and on the edge of the Pou Clar gorge in Ontinyent. Guests are always surprised when they realise just how close and that there's a very big drop from our terrace to the river below!

Pou Clar just made it onto the pages of National Geographic

It's an extraordinarily beautiful location and one of the must see places in the Valencia region.

We like to think it's a pretty special place to call home and as a base for our cycling holidays.

Damp start, but a fantastic climb over the zig zags, into Bocairent and sunny descent home.

The other group went road riding this morning.

And another group went MTB omg this afternoon.

The Valencia region is a well known birding destination and our retreat is based directly above the Pou Clar gorge and Clariano river and less than a kilometre to Serra L'Ombria mountains, it means we're spoiled for amazing birds visiting the garden.

Some we'll see regularly, some at different times of the year
