🏆 MEET OUR 2026 EVGC GENTS CLUB CHAMPION – COLE CROWN 🏆

At the incredible age of just 15 years old, Cole Crown has written his name into EVGC history by becoming our 2026 Gents Club Champion! 👏⛳️

We caught up with Cole after his fantastic two days of golf to find out what the victory means to him, how he handled the pressure and who helped him along the way.

⛳ How does it feel to be the 2026 EVGC Gents Club Champion?

💬 “It feels awesome. I’m truly honoured to be the holder of the trophy and have my name up on the board in the clubhouse. Can’t wait to go back next year and defend it.”

⛳ You came back strongly on day two — how were you feeling going into the second round?

💬 “I was only 4 shots back. I had a goal in mind and stuck to it. I accepted it wasn’t going to go my way sometimes, but I knew that I was capable of shooting a low enough score to put me in contention.”

⛳ Was there a particular hole, shot or moment from the two days that really stands out for you?

💬 “The 3rd hole was a huge turning point. Got off to an underwhelming start and then birdied 3 which got my hopes back up. Also, the eagle on 16 that closed it was very special and I proved to myself that I could pull off those kind of shots under pressure.”

⛳ When did you start to believe you had a chance of winning?

💬 “I hit a perfect tee shot up the 13th which led to me going 2 shots up and after that I realised that I had a pretty good chance of winning.”

⛳ What does winning the EVGC Club Championship mean to you?

💬 “It means a good amount to me. I’ve been training for this since my loss last year so it was a surreal feeling to conquer after last year.”

❤️ Is there anyone you’d particularly like to thank for their support?

💬 “As I said in my speech, the members of the society make me feel welcome and involved, but my mum and dad support me after every high and low. They take me up every weekend to play, they are the reason.”

👏 And what a journey it has been!

At just 15, Cole has shown tremendous talent, composure and determination to take on the challenge and become our 2026 EVGC Gents Club Champion.

From last year's disappointment to this year's victory — and finishing with an eagle under pressure — this is a championship story to remember. 🏆🦅

🏆 MEET OUR 2026 EVGC LADIES CLUB CHAMPION – AMY GAY 🏆

After two fantastic rounds of golf, Amy was crowned our 2026 EVGC Ladies Club Champion.

Amy finished the championship after an outstanding first round of 66, giving her the confidence to stay focused and deliver another excellent round on Sunday.

We caught up with Amy after her victory and asked her about her championship weekend, her achievement and the people who have supported her along the way.

⛳ How does it feel to be the EVGC Ladies Club Champion?
💬 “It feels amazing. I’m really proud and happy to have won, especially after two really good rounds.”

⛳ Going into the second round, how did you feel knowing you had played so well on day one?
💬 “I felt confident knowing I was playing well. I knew it would be a difficult round trying to back up a -5 first round, so I tried to stick to my normal game.”

⛳ Was there one moment or round that stands out most from the weekend?
💬 “I’d say the first round stands out the most. Shooting 66 was a great feeling and gave me confidence going into the second day.”

⛳ What does winning the Club Championship mean to you?
💬 “It means a lot to me. I’ve put a lot of time and effort into my golf, so it’s great to see it pay off.”

⛳ Who would you like to thank for helping and supporting you?
💬 “I’d like to thank my parents for always supporting me and encouraging me with my golf, and everyone at EVGC for their support.”

❤️ Amy’s dad and coach was understandably very proud, telling us that he was especially pleased with “how I stuck to my process over the whole weekend and didn’t get ahead of myself.”

And Amy’s mum wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at EVGC “for being so kind and having such nice words.”

🏆 WHAT. A. WEEKEND. 🏆

After an incredible two days of golf, sunshine, laughter, food, friendship and a little bit of competition, our EVGC Club Championship has come to a close — and what a weekend it has been! ⛳️💚

First and foremost, a huge thank you to Manuel, Chris, Enrique and the entire GNK Golf team for doing an incredible job of making the course playable after the unprecedented amount of rain we had on Wednesday. Quite simply, we couldn’t have asked for more. 👏

A massive thank you also goes to Horacio and the fabulous team at Sandalo Restaurant, who transformed the terrace into a beautiful green and white celebration space, served us some super food and, as always, took such good care of us. 💚

To our wonderful event sponsor Somium El Valle Residences — it has been a pleasure working with you. We are incredibly grateful for your hospitality, generous prizes and sponsorship, and for helping us make this Championship so special. 🏆

And then there are our members ❤️

Without you, these events simply wouldn’t be what they are. The social scene at EVGC is quite simply amazing — the laughter, the support, the stories, the celebrations and the sheer number of people who get stuck in and make things happen is what makes this club so special.

To everyone who volunteered (and those who were lovingly cajoled into volunteering! 😂) — THANK YOU! These events take a huge amount of effort and single contribution is appreciated. 👏

It was super to see so many of our members enjoying the afternoon sunshine on the terrace, swapping stories from their rounds, keeping an eager eye on the scoreboard and, of course, enjoying the fabulous tapas provided by Horacio and his amazing team at Sandalo Restaurant. 🍽️👏

After Day 1, Amy Gay is leading the way for the Ladies, while Siôn Rands sits at the top of the leaderboard for the Gents. 👏🏆

But there’s still everything to play for tomorrow… and we have a feeling it’s going to be a very interesting final day! 👀

Our members were on the tee from 08:00 this morning, greeted by our Captain, Darren Wistow, ready to get this year’s Championships officially underway.

Now comes the hard part… waiting for those scores to come in! 👀

As the scores are posted, we’ll be keeping a very close eye on the leaderboard to see who is making their move — and, of course, the results will determine the order of play for Day Two.
