During the rainy weekend I've been looking back at some of the amazing fish we caught this year, and this one has to be on top of the list.

What an epic fight that was on a light trolling outfit. At first we thought we were dealing with an outrageously big leer, but when she stayed deep during the fight, we kind of knew it was going to be a huge AJ. Released unharmed.

The best shots at these oversized amberjacks we'll have during the month of June, when they are corralling bait balls.

October is producing some great fish, and not just leerfish. Today's group got over 10 fish and most of the BFT were in the 250 to 300 pound class, great fun on 50 and 80 pound outfits!

If you're interested in a last minute trip, give us a shout! Leerfish are showing on top and the BFT are relatively easy to hook!

💥FISH OF A LIFETIME💥

We left the harbour with the incoming light. Miquel and his friends joined us for the first time since we decided to start a collaboration.

The plan was to look for activity on the top, but after a change in weather, things were very calm and we decided to aim for big leerfish on the troll.

Two days ago the leers were all over the place, today was a completely different story. Plenty of bird activity, loads of bait around, but no leerfish to be seen.

Just after lunch when we were about to give up and head back, the bite came. A gentle one, we even thought it came off for a second, followed by a long run. A heavy, deep fight, with a lot of weight involved, already gave away that this was most likely not a monster leerfish.

After a good half hour, she finally showed herself on the surface. The copper shimmer on the cheek. The brown glow on her back. The dark stripe on her face. Yep. A huge f*cking amberjack.
