350 meters of sustained difficulty on Donec Perficiam.
On the limestone walls of Montrebei, Xavi Sabater took on one of the area’s most demanding multipitch routes, a line where the difficulty rarely lets up.
After first working the route in March, Xavi returned in May with his sights set on a free ascent. Establishing a bivouac above the third pitch, he and his climbing partner spent four days on the wall, resting through the hottest hours and climbing in the afternoon shade.
The effort, preparation, and persistence paid off. Xavi completed the second free ascent of Donec Perficiam, adding his name to the short list of climbers to have freed this formidable limestone line.
