For the last 8 years practicing yoga and mindfulness has taught me many things, particularly how to understand and accept my body, how to be fit and strong, how to properly relax and how to let go of unhelpful habits and negative self talk. I was encouraged by a friend, to try a yoga class at a time of intense burnout and stress. Since then, Yoga has been my safe place to sit with sadness, calm my
racing thoughts and move with and through grief. My teacher training with the fabulous Antonina Ramsey at inHarmony School of Yoga Therapy, taught me about the science behind yoga, how it directly influences our nervous system and creates a harmony between our body and mind. My passion is to empower my students to stay curious about their bodies and minds, to find greater strength and a sense of ease. I blend mindfulness, Hatha and embodied yoga principles to encourage people to let go of a shapes-based practice and focus on awareness and what feels good. This style of yoga supports and strengthens the body and calms the mind. I have over 15 years experience working with people suffering with depression, anxiety, stress and burnout and have been a yoga teacher for nearly five years, offering sessions to a diverse range of people, privately, at my own retreats and at public classes. For the the last two years I taught mindfulness and yoga in a rehabilitation centre for addiction and trauma. Relevant qualifications and training include: 200 hours Hatha Yoga for Health and Yoga Therapy, Mindfulness for Stress Reduction, Yoga Nidra, Trauma Training, Working with Addictions, MA in Youth and Community Work. Classes are accessible for all levels and all bodies. Each class focuses on you feeling connected, energised and relaxed.
