A look inside the stringing operation at the Hamburg Open, where Nikki joined the official Yonex stringing team in the fan village.

Players dropped off 2–6 rackets at a time, and every single one was logged in Strung — what was done, the requested setup, and the deadline. Work labels and racket stickers printed straight from the app, so the team always knew exactly what to string next.

Tension trend this year ran low: roughly 19–20kg on average, with a full range of 12–24kg. A reflection of the heavy balls and changeable Hamburg weather, which swung between sun and downpours all week.

With a roof on centre court, play kept going — so the stringing did too.
