A LEGACY OF AIKIDO — NOW AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE ON VIDEO
I want to share something that I believe will be of great interest to many of the people who follow me and are interested in my way of understanding and practicing Aikido.
Before anything else, I want to say that Reynosa Sensei was my teacher.
Makoto Aikido Kyokai, Inc.
Larry Reynosa Shihan has dedicated more than 40 years of his life to Aikido. His journey includes 18 years of direct study with Steven Seagal Sensei, becoming his highest-ranking student and helping to organize and preserve his teachings through the years. From those experiences, Reynosa Sensei developed his own vision of Aikido and has dedicated much of his life to teaching and sharing it with practitioners around the world.

Over many years, he has shared his vision of Aikido through seminars, classes, online teaching, podcasts, interviews and countless hours of practice. Much of this material was originally available through paid seminars and online programs.
Now, he has made the decision to bring together this body of work and make it freely available to everyone through the official Makoto Aikido Kyokai YouTube channel.
For me, this is much more than simply a collection of videos. It is the legacy of many years dedicated to Aikido, and an opportunity for anyone, anywhere in the world, to study, explore and gain insight into Reynosa Sensei’s unique vision.
One of the ideas that has always been at the heart of his Aikido is O’Sensei’s words:
“Aikido wa budo de aru.”
And, in Reynosa Sensei’s own words:
“Aikido wa bushido de aru.”
I encourage everyone who is interested in Aikido to explore this material. Watch the videos, study them, practice, and make your own conclusions.
And there is something else I would like to ask you to consider.
When we receive something of real value, especially a legacy that has taken decades to build, I believe it is important to contribute to keeping it alive.
That is why Reynosa Sensei has also created a Ko-fi page for anyone who feels that these teachings are valuable and would like to support the project financially.
The material is freely available to everyone, but keeping a project like this alive requires resources. Every contribution, whatever you feel is appropriate, helps.
What matters is that, if you find value in what Reynosa Sensei is offering, you consider giving something back and helping make it possible for this legacy to remain available to future generations.
