• Born in 1959 he was one of the best midfielders of the 80s.

• He started playing in 1976 with FC Augsburg and FC Koln until 1980.

• At FC Barcelona (1980 -1988) he won 3 Spanish Cups, 1 Spanish League and 1 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. He coincided with Maradona, with whom he was friends and with Cruyff as coach. ⚽✨

• In Real Madrid (1988-1990) of Butragueño and his fifth, he played 2 seasons including the season of goal records at that time. He won 2 Leagues, 1 Spanish Cup.

• At Atlético de Madrid (1990-1993) he won 2 Spanish Cups, one of them against Real Madrid where he scored a goal. 👏🔥

• From 1993 he played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen until 1995. He retired in 1997 after playing for San Jose Clash in the United States and Pumas UNAM in Mexico.

• At a very young age, he won the 1980 European Championship in Italy with Germany 🔥🔥 (photo 6) . But due to disagreements with his national team, from the age of 23 he no longer played. A pity because this prevented him from having more impact at world level for a player of incredible talent.

This legendary right-back spent his entire professional club career at Borussia Mönchengladbach. He also won the WC 1974 with West Germany⚽🔥👏

🔹 He was born in 1946 in Germany.

🔹 He played with Borussia Mönchengladbach (photo 1, 2 and 3), between 1965 and 1979 and won five Bundesliga titles 💪, all in the 70s, two UEFA Cup (1975 and 1979), and one DFB-Pokal (1973). He played over 400 matches for the club, becoming a symbol of loyalty and leadership.

🔹 For West Germany, he earned 96 caps between 1967 and 1978, participating in two World Cup finals revisar (1974, 1978 ) and three European Championships. He was a key part of the team that won the 1974 FIFA World Cup ✨👏 (photo 6), where he famously marked Johan Cruyff in the final (see photo 4 and 5). He also conquered the Euro 1972.

🔹 His nickname, “Der Terrier,” came from his relentless defensive style—never giving his opponent space or rest. Ask Cruyff 😅

This legendary French defender of FC Nantes was one of the best defenders in French football in the 1970s and 1980s. ⚽

🔹Born in 1955, he spent most of his career at FC Nantes, where he played from 1973 to 1985, and then returned between 1990 and 1991. In between, he played four seasons with RC Paris. With Nantes he won three French Leagues (1977, 1980 and 1983) and one French Cup (1979). 🔥🔥⚽

🔹He accumulated more than 500 official matches with Nantes and is remembered for his talent as a libero, his efficiency and fair play.

🔹He played 76 games for the French national team 🇫🇷 between 1976 and 1986, winning Euro 1984.🔥👏 He was part of the generation of Platinis's team in no less than three World Cups (1978, 1982 and 1986).

🔹 Although he missed the last penalty in the semi-finals of the World Cup in Spain 82 against Germany, he should not be remembered for this event but for his long record of efficiency and seriousness on the field.

🔹He was voted Player of the Year 1979 and 1981 by France Football magazine.

1986 World Cup qualifying stage. You can see two players from Argentina and Peru locked in a wrestling match. 🤣😃😉

🔹Argentina and Peru, along with Colombia and Venezuela, were in Group 1 of the qualifiers, both fighting to finish top and qualify directly.

🔹Argentina struggled in this phase. The two matches against Peru were a real torment.

🔹In the first leg, the player shown on the left was a shadow to Maradona, in a match remembered not for its quality or goals, but for the suffocating man-marking imposed on El Pibe. Peru won 1–0 with a goal from Juan Carlos Oblitas 🇵🇪 🔥⚽. (photo 3)

🔹In the final group match, Argentina and Peru met again. By the 39th minute, Peru were leading 2–1, and it wasn’t until almost full-time that Ricardo Gareca 🔥⚽ (photo 4) scored in the 81st minute to secure a 2–2 draw and send Argentina directly to Mexico.

This charismatic Chelsea centre-forward always appeared at the defining moments and became a true legend in the 70s.⚽🔵

🔹Born in 1947 in England , his name is forever linked to Stamford Bridge, where he played two spells: from 1964 to 1974 and then at 1978-79. He also spent time at Southampton 1974-77 and had a brief spell at USA with Philadelphia Fury.

🔹He was instrumental in winning the FA Cup in 1970 against Leeds United and also the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1971, the latter against Real Madrid. He scored in both finals ⚽👏🔥 which elevated his Chelsea status to that of an idol. He also became one of the few players to score in every round of the 1970 FA Cup tournament.

🔹At international level, he sadly only represented England on four occasions.

🔹He died in 2006 🙏 and Chelsea FC paid tribute to him with a statue at Stamford Bridge in 2010. His legacy as ‘The King of Stamford Bridge’ lives on among generations of fans.

Who was this Danish midfield genius who worked magic at Anfield 🔴⚽ for over a decade?

• Born in Denmark in 1963, he began his career at Kolding IF and then shone at Ajax (1982-1984) where he won 1 Eredivisie and 1 Dutch Cup ⚽✨(photo 3 with Soren Lerby) sand caught the eye of the European giants. In 1984 he joined Liverpool FC, where he spent 12 seasons full of technique, vision and surgical precision on the ball. He finished his career at Swansea City in 1998.

• At Liverpool he won 3 First Division Leagues, 2 FA Cups and 3 FA Charity Shields, 👏⚽becoming one of the most elegant midfielders in English football. He was particularly famous for his ability to dictate the tempo of the game and for his incredible effectiveness from the penalty spot.

• He played for Denmark 🇩🇰 at Euro 1984 and was part of the team that revolutionised Danish football.

• An anecdote: Johan Cruyff tried to sign him for Barcelona. This says it all about this midfield legend.

One of the most brilliant brains that Brazilian football has ever produced. ⚽👏🔥

🔹This Brazilian midfielder, nicknamed the Ethiopian Prince, stood out for his elegance, vision and ability to control the pace of the game. He marked an era in the 50s and 60s.

🔹Born in 1928, he made his debut with Fluminense FC 🇮🇹 in 1949 and played there for two stints: 1949-1956 and 1964-1966. He won the Campeonato Carioca in 1951 and left a deep mark as a benchmark and tricolour idol.

🔹In 1959 he signed for Real Madrid, where he shared a dressing room with legends such as Di Stéfano and Puskás (photo 4). Although his time there was brief (1959-60), he was part of the team that won the European Cup. But his rivalry with Di Stéfano pushed him to leave as both wanted to lead the attacking play.

🔹He also had a notable period with Botafogo, with whom he won the Carioca Championship three times in 1957, 1961 and 1962. He played with Sporting Cristal in Peru, Veracruz in Mexico and ended his career with Sao Paulo.

🔹With the Brazilian national team he was World Champion in 1958 and 1962 🔥🔥, being key with his famous ‘folha seca’, a type of shot with effect that baffled goalkeepers. He was voted best player of the 1958 World Cup and is considered one of the inventors of the modern midfielder.

🔹As a coach, he led Peru to their first World Cup on his own merit, reaching the quarter-finals of the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.

This AS Roma player was a Brazilian central defender idol of the 90s 💥⚽

🔹He was born in 1965 in Brazil. He started playing for CR Flamengo between 1985 and 1989, where he won the Carioca Championship in 1986 and left an impressive mark at the club.

🔹He moved to Europe and spent a year at Benfica (1989–1990). In 1990, he signed for AS Roma. After thirteen years with the club, he joined Genoa in 2003, then Rio Branco, and ended his career playing for San Marino’s Murata.

🔹During his time at AS Roma, he won the Italian Cup in 1991, and the Serie A and Italian Super Cup in 2001 🔥💥, where he was a key player protecting the goal. In 2012, the Brazilian was honoured as one of the first eleven players ever inducted into the Roman club’s Hall of Fame.

🔹As an international, he was also an integral part of the Brazilian national teams that won the Copa América in 1989 and 1997, and the World Cup in 1994 — alongside Márcio Santos, Branco, Jorginho, Romário, Bebeto, and Raí ⚽⚽⚽

This 70s Croatian striker for Olympique de Marseille was top scorer in the French Ligue 1 in three consecutive seasons. 💙🤍🔥

🔹He was born in Croatia in 1941.

🔹He joined OM in the 1966-67 season and he returned between 1969 and 1974 where he was known as The Dalmatian Eagle.

🔹With OM he won the Ligue 1 in 1971 and 1972 and the 1972 French Cup, was top scorer in Ligue 1 in 1971, 1972 and 1973 and still holds the record for top scorer in Ligue 1 in a single season with 44 goals. ⚽⚽🔥👏 What more could you ask for from a striker?

🔹He won the European Golden Boot in 1971 as part of the Marseille club.

🔹Born in 1950, he played for Torino FC from 1967 to 1982, scoring an incredible 172 goals in all competitions. He was the first player to be elected into Torino’s Hall of Fame in 2014.

🔹He formed a legendary strike partnership with Francesco Graziani — they were famously known as “I gemelli del gol” (the goal twins).

🔹With the Granata, he won the Coppa Italia in 1971 and the Serie A title in 1976.🔥⚽

🔹 Our today striker was Serie A top scorer (capocannoniere) with Torino in 1972–73, 1974–75, and 1975–76. 🐂♥️🔥👏
